We spent months making this film - it’s about so many of the themes that shape Israel, Jerusalem, Palestinians and the Middle East.
Filmed and edited by @ramsay_lex. Produced by @celinealkhaldi

Benjamin Netanyahu is set to lead the largest bloc in the Israeli elections but does not have the seats for an overall majority.
'It's a weird election this one, where no one's really won', Sky's Middle East Correspondent @adamparsons reports.

Oh no. One of the greats. Farewell Captain Picard, the most inspirational, interesting and astutely portrayed character. Thanks for everything.

Israel’s intelligence service, the Shin Bet, is being urged to investigate claims that a foreign country (Qatar) tried to/did influence the Israeli election by funding efforts to boost turnout for Arab parties.
The claims are said to have come from the head of the Elections Committee, Justice Noam Sohlberg.
Likud, the party of Benjamin Netanyahu, is using the claims to demand that nobody does a coalition deal with Ra’am or the Joint List, who are on course to win 19 seats between them - a record performance for the bloc.
Very interesting. Like so many other countries, there is a huge gap between certain metropolitan groups and much of the rest of the country.
Netanyahu: "Likud is the largest party in Israel. The propaganda channels have been constantly engineering public consciousness, while knowing it was a lie.
"The right-wing bloc holds a clear and decisive majority among the Zionist public. We must form a strong, national, right-wing government."
NEW: with the normal caveats, Netanyahu is now the clear favourite to be Israel's next prime minister
NEW: Netanyahu's bloc is now projected to secure 53 seats as against 49 for Eisenkot.
18 seats for Joint List/Ra'am
Still hard to see how a coalition is formed if neither bloc will do a deal with Arab Parties.
Both Channel 11 and 13 have now updated their polls to predict a 51-51 tie between the two blocs.
Both polls now have Likud winning 27 seats against either 21 or 22 for Yashar, making Netanyahu's party the very clear winner
The coalition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party is projected to win more total seats than Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition group, according to an exit poll by broadcaster Channel 11.
Sky's Middle East correspondent @adamparsons looks at what the exit polls tell us - with the Arab parties left as potential kingmakers.

"What's election day like in Israel?"
Oh you know, pretty normal. Probably the same as every other country.
Eisenkot's party had has said it "firmly opposes" the request, saying "no exceptional incident" has occurred to justify such a claim.
Millions of Israelis are voting to elect a new government today, with the latest poll suggesting Netanyahu could be ousted.

NEW: as we await the arrival of Benjamin Netanyahu, the turnout in this election is, in its first three hours, the highest for 45 years. One in six people have already voted
This is a crucial, and under-reported, question - the restraints on a caretaker PM during the period of government formation. And it could place the Israeli Attorney General into a very powerful position
By all accounts, it looks like Trump is laying the groundwork for a major confrontation with Iran after the midterms. The problem is Israel has an election tomorrow. Netanyahu is unlikely to win a majority. We can’t have a major interstate war during the delicate government formation negotiations. A caretaker prime minister who just lost an election would not have the legitimacy to launch a war that would bring ballistic missiles on our cities. Iran knows that. It’s a vulnerability that it will doubtless seek to exploit.
