The same guy who was caught fixing the price of bread for years now claims that the big grocers have no control over prices.
Give me a break.
Canadians aren’t stupid. We see Galen getting richer and richer as grocery costs skyrocket. We know we’re being ripped off.
It’s time to break up the Big Grocery Cartel and drive down costs with a national network of public grocery stores that Canadians can actually afford to shop at.
Hamilton's steelworkers are at the heart of our economy, and we won’t stand by while a Trump-aligned CEO tries to wipe them out.
Yesterday, I rallied with Stelco workers to protest Cleveland-Cliffs' layoffs and their overt sabotage of our steel industry. Stelco’s owner has admitted that he bought the company to take out the competition for his US steel mills.
Once our steel industry is gone, it’s gone forever.
It's time for the government to act before it's too late. Nationalize Stelco. Save these good union jobs. Put the steel industry into public hands.
That's how we take back control of our economy and build a stronger Canada for everybody.
The Liberal government claims it wants to build Canada strong.
You can't do that by attacking the workers who build it each and every day.
Bill C-39 is the Carney plan to build baby build: but who is it really written for?
The working class of this country?
Or the investor class eyeing mega profits from our airports, public assets and natural resources?
I think the Carney government has shown us whose interests rule in today's Canada.
NEW: Today, the Liberals voted down MP @LeahGazan's bill to end government strikebreaking and protect the constitutional right to strike.
The NDP stands with workers; they chose to stand with the billionaires and corporate interests that are fuelling the crises that working people face every day.
But the fight isn’t over. The Liberals and Conservatives are teaming up to expand this undemocratic power and make life harder for workers with Bill C-39. The NDP and workers coast to coast to coast will be fighting back every step of the way.
We're building worker power with the grassroots, and we want you to be a part of it! Join @avilewis and local labour leaders to talk about what's at stake for workers and how we're organizing together in solidarity.

You don't make Canada strong by attacking the workers who keep it running. But the Liberals have gone after workers on strike again and again. Now, they're entrenching these attacks into law.
Today, Parliament is voting on MP @LeahGazan’s bill to scrap Section 107 and end government interference in strikes. The NDP will always stand with workers. The other parties will have their chance to show whose side they're on.
Email your MP now and tell them to vote YES to Bill C-247.

The American CEO who bought Stelco is openly admitting that he purchased the company to sabotage it.
This is why the Liberals should have never approved Stelco's sale in the first place. When you give away ownership of a critical industry like steel, your economy is forever under another's thumb.
There is only one solution that will save these jobs and put Canada back in the driver's seat: we need to nationalize Stelco.
A huge congratulations to @oliviachow and the incredible slate of progressive councillors elected in Toronto tonight.
This win goes beyond any one person or campaign — it’s the result of years of movements organizing together, from tenant unions to climate activists, migrant rights advocates and those on the front lines of harm reduction. You mobilized and knocked on every last door to make this happen.
Tonight, you’ve secured a better future for Toronto together.
Today broke grey and raw for New Democrats here in BC: last night was a body blow.
This morning I’m sending solidarity and care to all the progressive organizers - within and beyond electoral politics - who have worked tirelessly over so many years in this province.
It is thanks to your unending effort that we have won and defended all our social gains: queer and disability rights, Indigenous rights, childcare and public health, working conditions and unionization, universal public services and more.
None of these victories came without struggle. And that struggle must continue now, to protect them in every way we can.
But not today. Today is a day to feel all the feelings, find comfort and get some rest.
Tomorrow we rise to fight again.
I voted for my NDP candidate today. BC, make sure you vote before 8pm!

At least $50 billion for another pipeline.
$82 billion in new military spending in 5 years.
$300 billion in corporate welfare and mega incentives at an investment summit.
But the cupboard is bare for Parks Canada. Despite the heroic efforts of the @psac_afpc workers who'll remain, camping will be chaos next summer.
If you’re not a big corporation or foreign investor, you might just be invisible to this government.
2,671 PSAC members at Parks Canada received notice this week that their positions may be cut. These cuts put our environment, natural and cultural heritage, parks, and national historic sites at risk.

The right knows how to channel the legitimate rage of working class people. The problem is where they direct that rage.
It’s not immigrants and trans kids making your life impossible. It’s the bankers and the billionaires with all the wealth and power. It’s time to put the blame where it actually belongs.

Canadians can’t afford rent. Food bank use is at a record high. Wages are stagnant while the rich are getting richer than ever before.
Of all the people who could use this kind of federal support right now, venture capitalists are at the bottom of that list.

BC, advance voting ends everywhere at 8pm PT today. Don't delay!
This is a pivotal election for our province. As a British Columbian, I’m deeply concerned about what a BC Conservative government would do to our province, particularly the most vulnerable folks in our communities.
I’ll be doing my part to defeat the Conservatives and elect a progressive government by voting for my NDP candidate Lara Honrado on Saturday.
