In Edmonton this week, FCM President @TimTierney and 1st VP @valentinokathy connected with municipal leaders from across Alberta at the @RuralMA's Fall Convention.
In Alberta and across the country, rural municipalities are the backbone of the Canadian economy. FCM will continue pushing the federal government for rural priorities—because strong communities make a strong Canada.

Remembrance Day can be deeply emotional.
For many, it’s a time to honour and reflect. But for some Veterans, it can also be a day of pain — one that brings back powerful memories of loss, service, and sacrifice. We want all Veterans to know: we see you, we understand, and we are here for you.
If this time of year is difficult for you — or for a Veteran you know — please reach out. Our Legion Command Service Officers are here to listen and to help connect you with the support you need.
You are not alone. legion.ca/support-for-vetera…
Fr. Mike Cundari, C.R.
1934 - 1986
Today, marks 40 years since the passing of Fr. Mike Cundari, a @ResurrectCanada priest, and last priest to serve as principal of the @WaterlooCDSB’s former St. Jerome’s High School.
Father Mike played an extremely influential role in my life and in the lives of many of the thousands of young men who attended St. Jerome’s in its 125 year history.
Respect, humility, trust, hard work, dedication - these are just some of the positive traits that come to mind when I think about how Fr. Mike influenced my life.
Fr. Mike exemplified pastoral servant leadership. Whether at 730 am on a Tuesday morning, or 8pm on a Sunday night, he was always there for the students he served, including unlocking the school when they wanted to get in to use the gym facilities at all hours. An avid sports fan, especially football, he regularly reminded our teams to always “win with dignity, and lose with pride.” A simple reminder to always live life and its various chapters with humility.
Two of the pictures here were taken during Father Mike’s 50th birthday celebrations in 1984, with a lion cub brought in to celebrate this special occasion in a school filled with over 1000 St. Jerome Lions. A great part of who I am today as a servant leader is because of the two people in these pictures who are no longer with us - Fr. Mike, my principal and Bill Klos, my student activity director. I remember both of them with immense respect and gratitude, along with many of the other grade school and high school teachers who had a positive role in my life during my most formative years.
Thank you Fr. Mike for all you meant to me and to so many, and for demonstrating through your actions how to live life as God’s people. #RIP_FrMike

On behalf of the NATO Military Committee, we extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the tragedy at CFB Wainwright, and our wishes for a full recovery to all the injured.
Wainwright is where Canadian soldiers, and so many Allies with them, train for the hardest tasks of our profession. Those who fell there served our common security, and the Military Committee will honour their memory.
We are grateful to the first responders, medical staff and the people of Wainwright for their courage and solidarity.
@CDS_Canada_CEMD, Canada does not carry this grief alone. All 32 Allied Chiefs of Defence stand with you and the Canadian Armed Forces. 🇨🇦
