The risk side matters.
Hyperliquid offers up to 50x leverage on perps. Leverage magnifies gains and losses, and positions can be liquidated automatically during sharp price moves.
A study cited by Bloomberg found fewer than a quarter of its accounts are profitable. (7/8)
What about the US?
Hyperliquid isnโt officially available to US users. The proposed route: apps built on top of it, not the protocol itself, would handle US requirements like identity checks (KYC) and market surveillance.

Why are incumbents paying attention?
These markets donโt follow a standard trading day. CME Group and ICE have raised concerns about possible price manipulation.

An upgrade called HIP-3 lets third parties launch their own markets on Hyperliquidโs infrastructure. The result: perps tracking indexes, gold, oil and equities.

Itโs a blockchain with a decentralized exchange built on top. Trades are executed and settled by code onchain, not by a company acting as intermediary.
