Today, CPS Energy had the privilege of visiting Holy Cross of San Antonio to thank middle school students who took the time to write heartfelt letters to our lineworkers following recent storm restoration efforts. The messages of appreciation meant so much to the crews who worked tirelessly to restore power and serve our community.
Our team enjoyed spending time with students, sharing safety demonstrations, handing out candy, and celebrating the power of community connections.
A special thank you to Mr. Ichen, a middle school math teacher, for inspiring this initiative and encouraging students to recognize the dedication of the men and women who help keep our community powered. Acts of gratitude like these remind our employees why their work matters and strengthen the bond between CPS Energy and the people we serve.
Thank you to the entire Holy Cross community for the warm welcome and for making this such a meaningful day. 💙⚡ #CPSEnergy #PublicPower
Scammers are all tricks and no treats, so here's how to spot them before they get a chance to spook you! 👻🚫
Phonies, aka scammers, will often try to scare you into acting quickly. 😰 If you receive a call from someone claiming that you need to pay immediately or verify personal info right away, it's likely a scam. ⚠️
Always check Manage My Account (MMA) if you're ever in doubt. It's the safest and most reliable way to view any balances due and ensure your info is up-to-date.

DYK: All Texas homeowners are required to #Call811 at least 2 business days before doing any project that requires digging? 📲📅⚠️
Calling 811 is a free service that helps locate underground utility lines on your property, so you can safely dig and avoid any hazards.
So, when should you call 811? Whenever you're doing ANY kind of digging, like ✅ planting a tree, ✅ building a deck, or ✅ installing a sprinkler system.

OUTAGE UPDATE (4:30 PM): Crews are actively working to restore power for customers impacted by today's strong wind gusts.
As of this update, crews are responding to 45 active outages affecting approximately 163 customers.
Safety is our top priority, and our teams are on the ground assessing damage and making repairs as quickly as possible. High winds exceeding 25 mph, can make restoration more challenging, especially when bucket trucks can’t be used safely. In these cases, our crews may need to climb poles, which can take more time. Thank you for your understanding as we work to restore your power safely and efficiently.
SAFETY REMINDERS:
💨 Secure loose outdoor items! Strong wind gusts can blow away patio furniture, decorations, trash cans, and other unsecured objects. Please take precautions to secure these items and help prevent damage or potential safety hazards.
🛑 Remember to #MoveOver or #SlowDown when approaching crews working along roadways. Give them plenty of space to work safely.
⚠️ Stay away from downed power lines and always treat them as energized. Do NOT approach, touch, or drive over a downed line. Report downed power lines immediately to 210-353-HELP (4357).
We appreciate our community’s patience as crews continue working safely to restore power.

OUTAGE UPDATE (2:15 PM): Strong winds continue to impact the San Antonio area, causing outages across portions of our service area.
As of this update, crews are responding to 66 active outages affecting approximately 3,233 customers.
Our crews are actively assessing damage and working to safely restore power. However, strong winds can create additional challenges particularly when using bucket trucks to access power lines. When wind speeds exceed 25 mph, our crews may need to climb poles instead of using bucket trucks to safely complete repairs. These conditions can extend restoration times.
SAFETY REMINDERS:

⚡ A clear space around electrical equipment helps keep our community safe!
You may have noticed green transformer boxes in yards or throughout your neighborhood. These boxes are an important part of the electrical system that helps deliver power to homes and businesses.
Keeping the areas around them clear allows CPS Energy crews to safely access equipment for inspections, maintenance, and repairs when needed.
🌿 Avoid planting trees, shrubs, or other vegetation too close to electrical equipment.
🚧 Keep landscaping materials, decorations, and other objects away from transformer boxes.
⚠️ Never attempt to open, move, or tamper with electrical equipment.
Help us keep these areas clear and accessible so our crews can work safely and efficiently.
