Congratulations to the 2027 Calgary Stampede Princess, Kyla Lightfoot!
Riding since age two, Kyla, 23, has participated in 4-H Alberta, extreme cowboy racing, gymkhana and reining, and is active in the Quarter Horse Association of Alberta show circuit, having earned multiple national championship titles. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Communications in Journalism and Digital Media at Mount Royal University. Having grown up inspired by the Calgary Stampede and its royalty, she is honoured to be the 2027 Stampede Princess and to give back to the community that helped shape the young woman she is today.

Today's organizational update had a spooky twist as the Calgary Stampede team showed up in costume, brought out the Halloween treats and got into the spirit of the season. A little creativity, a lot of laughs and some seriously impressive costumes made for a wicked afternoon!

Alongside 18 animal athletes, Calgary Stampede Ranch Manager, Tyler Kraft, will be headed to Las Vegas as a Pick-Up Man for his fourth consecutive National Finals Rodeo this December! Tyler is also in the running for the 2026 Pickup Man of the Year award, which will be announced on December 2.
Adding to the excitement, Tyler and Vanessa Kraft’s horse, Redman, has been named Pickup Horse of the Year, marking the fourth consecutive win for a horse from the Kraft family since the award was introduced in 2023.

Chondra is a 23-year-old Jingle Dress dancer whose Blackfoot name is Naamitapiaakii, meaning Lone Woman. Fox dreams of creating spaces and experiences that bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together through fashion, events, creativity, and meaningful relationships.

This past weekend, the 12 selected OH Ranch Branded Beef Youth Ambassadors came together to select their steers and kick off the 2026–2027 program!
Launched in fall 2024, this innovative program is the only one of its kind in Canada, providing participants with exceptional agricultural education and hands-on experiences to support their growth and development as future leaders in the agriculture industry.
Throughout the program, participants will build valuable skills, learn from industry experts and benefit from the mentorship and support of the Calgary Stampede, along with the generosity of dedicated donors.
We look forward to following these young leaders throughout the year as they expand their knowledge, reinforce their connection to agriculture and help shape the future of the industry.
