I'm thankful to live in New Haven, CT — a city where people build a stake in the communities they love. #nhv
Following the work of @TenantsNotTourists closely. I strongly support thoughtful conversations about regulating short-term rentals to protect housing for residents and promote growth of affordable homes. Housing policy should put people first 🏡
I am excited to co-launch the Know Your Neighbors Fund!
It is a small fund to provide micro-grants of $100 to NHV residents to spark projects that bring neighbors together. Thank you @mileslasater + @NewHavenArts for your partnership. Submit an idea: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…
We launched our “Fair Haven Clean Haven Great Haven” anti-littering campaign!
I believe the smallest unit of civic engagement is picking up a piece of trash in your neighborhood. Organize a clean up this Spring with us — and let’s keep Fair Haven clean, great, and proud!
I am co-hosting a Willow Street Community Clean Up this coming Sunday, March 2nd at 1pm — alongside John Carlos (BOE Student Rep).
Many students walk to school over this bridge every week. All supplies provided and would love to see you there! DM me if you'd like to join.
It’s a great Sunday when @UConnWBB beats South Carolina! Excellent, disciplined, high-paced play and teamwork — with high assists and rebounds.
Shout out Christopher Martins for always being great hosts on State Street and letting me cheer loud and proud for our UConn Huskies!
Deadline to submit ideas for the New Haven T-Shirt Design Competition is tomorrow Sunday at midnight!
Proud to partner with Atelier Cho Thompson Studio on this competition.
Proud to have “adopted” the Fair Haven School 7th grade alongside Alder Miller and Alder Redente this year again!
It was great to speak to students about making a difference in our community through civics and public service. And thank you for this massive thank you card!
Always moving to march in the Annual MLK Love March hosted by Shiloh Church! It is the 55th year of the march that starts right in Ward 9 on Lawrence — and is a time of reflection to honor Dr. King’s birthday.
Proud to walk alongside community heroes like our Fire Chief Alston!
Did you see the pedestrian signal broken on State Street? Fixed!
Thank you to Joaquin and the team at @NewHavenDOT for being so responsive🚦🚛

It’s official: the city has received $2 million to stitch up the neighborhoods sliced apart by highways.

I am beyond thrilled to announce that New Haven has been awarded $2,000,000 from the federal Reconnecting Communities Grant for the I-91 Neighborhood Reconnection Initiative! 🧵
And, of course, I want to deeply thank Fair Haven and East Rock residents and community organizations who supported — and my amazing colleagues on the Board of Alders for their thoughtful collaboration and support.
