We're hiring Application Scientists 🧪
At CuspAI, we're using AI to discover the materials the world needs, for energy, clean water, the future of compute and carbon capture.
Our Scientific Discovery teams are growing, and we're looking for Application Scientists to join us in Electronics, Energy and Environment.
You'll own the science on partner projects from scoping to results, working with ML researchers, platform engineers and lab teams, and translating between experiment, simulation and machine learning.
We're especially interested in hands-on experience in:
🔷 Semiconductors, thin films and materials for electronics
🔷 Catalysis, batteries and photovoltaics
🔷 Porous materials, formulations, water treatment and separation
🔷 Lab automation, cheminformatics and optimisation
Industry experience is a big plus. You don't need to cover a whole pillar: real depth in one area is what counts.

I am nearing the end of a fantastic week in Singapore. Highlight was the opening of the Self-Driving Marvel Lab at @ASTARsg (A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research). Many thanks to A* CEO Kian-Teik Beh for making this all possible.
🧵We’re sharing ODAC25, the largest open dataset to date for Direct Air Capture materials ☁️
Published in @NatChemEng with @AIatMeta @GeorgiaTech, and leading academic partners.
We also open-sourced a software tool simulating gas-material interactions, and used this to show that ML models can accurately predict binding energies under real-world conditions:

ODAC25 yields 60M DFT calculations across 15K MOFs, accounting for structural flexibility and CO2 adsorption.
We believe genAI and large-scale simulation can rapidly expand the frontiers of materials science - not just across carbon capture, but across industries.

Proud to partner with MARVEL-AI, Singapore’s new S$150M platform for AI-driven material discovery, led by @ASTARsg and announced by Deputy Prime Minister @GANKIMYONG 🇸🇬
Our AI platform + their autonomous labs = new materials designed for impact at scale
Our co-Founder & CTO @wellingmax was there for the launch. 📷

It was very nice to discuss the future of AI for Materials in this panel at @SwitchSingapore. I discussed the concept of “recursive AI material innovation” where AI generates new materials for chips and energy and better chips improve AI. Thanks to all panel members!

Two years ago materials barely existed in the context of AI. This week:
Met with @satyanadella in London. Spoke at @nvidia GTC in Berlin to a packed room for a AI for materials panel.
AI itself, is now limited by physical things. Power, cooling, packaging, memory. All materials problems, and the ones we’re working on at @cusp_ai .
CuspAI co-founder & CEO Chad Edwards has been named on this year’s TIME100 AI list.
Discovering materials to power clean energy & next-gen compute takes bold leadership, congrats @ac_edwards_1!
If these hard challenges sound like your thing, we’re hiring…

"The number of possible molecules the universe could have made is unimaginably large... now we can imagine these new materials and actually make them in machines."
Our co-founder @wellingmax sat down with @johnthornhillft to discuss how CuspAI uses AI to create new materials to tackle climate change, the energy transition and challenges in the semiconductor industry: ft.com/content/5c2ae092-14af…
A massive thank you to our team, our partners, and our visionary investors - both existing and new, including @kleinerperkins @NEA and more.
