the shared cache is the sleeper feature here.
let the agent run checks on the cloud engine while it works: dagger --engine=cloud. whatever passed before push comes back as a cache hit when the pr opens.

Couldn't recommend Dagger enough if you're looking to improve your CI for the age of agents!
Announcing Dagger for GitHub.
Run the same checks before and after push. See results in your terminal and PR.
Cut out the middleman: just GitHub and Dagger Cloud.
Stop wasting compute: checks are cached, and you pay for exact usage, not machines.

If your AI moves fast but your CI gets stuck in the middle, whats the point?

it's still early days testing for me, but I predict that @GoEntire and @dagger_io are the next two parts of my stack that I'll use in every project. I need better agent integration with my code storage, safe automated merges, and CI runs that my agents can run anywhere
Agents reinvented how we produce code. It changed our tools and half of our workflow. It’s time for the other half to catch up.
Today, we’re shipping Entire: the Git forge for agent-human collaboration. We’ve built @GoEntire using Entire. Now we want to see what you'll build with it.
Here’s why and what’s different. 🧵

Moving from GitHub Actions to Dagger for local CI, tests, linting, and code quality checks. Can't afford burning through 3,000 minutes in just 20 days.

I migrated to dagger the moment 1.0 dropped. I don't even care if its early access, it has been a game changer in development.
How does Dagger compare to Blacksmith?

Yea Solomon thats exactly the case , very custum tuning ci tailored for project ( socping , dependency cache, nx , and many more) but to be fair dagger really impressed me , because it took me weeks to do the right setup. Where dagger single shot almost identical speed, will do more testing on different projects later. Thanks for the reaction.

Moving Ci from actions to VPS on @dagger_io. Preliminary results are in.
“Merge-time runs are now dramatically faster with Dagger (5-14x), though some PR runs”

CI needs to shift left. If you have to push to execute CI you're wasting your agents time. CI is absolutely killing my productivity right now. Traditional CI can not run at agent speed.

How do I run Jest in CI and split the tests with --shard?

@danielgafni has been using dagger for a long time at @typesafeai as our tool of choice for CICD and infra management.
Personally, I've been a complex-yaml-config hater for 15 years because you lose the expressiveness of code. to be clear i like yaml as serialization in most cases, but almost always prefer to store the construction of them in python files where you can do things like for loops and list comprehensions.
obviously, just keep that code simple and easy to read
this is how I do all my ML experiment configs, so it was an easy sell for our infra being this way too

Dagger is very cool, and the test-native CI is such a good idea!
Congrats @dagger_io team on the 1.0!
"When you peel off the layers of proprietary YAML and jargon, CI today boils down to running shell scripts on a server, and reading the logs. With such a primitive execution and data model, waste is everywhere, and it gets worse as you scale"
