A Florida election chief complains that slow mail delivery is impeding the timely delivery and return of ballots.
How prevalent is this around the country and what are the political characteristics the communities who are grappling with it?
Aren't these questions we should be asking?

Really funny. A late @SenatorCollins ad aimed at her opponents, @TroyJackson207, jibed that being a senator "wasn't like picking out a cord of wood"--a shot at Jackson, a former logger. So Jackson had a little fun with it today while Trick or Treating with his family.
So far, no truth to the rumor that Sen. Collins dressed up as a Continuing Resolution.
How cynical.
If Haley Stevens had gotten just a few more votes in the primary, @MikeRogers would be running her through his wood chipper right now for coddling immigrants, and criminals and all the golden oldies Republican candidates are counting on in this election to distract from an unpopular president, rising costs and a senseless war that has sent prices soaring.
But, man, Mike just loves and honors Haley today!
My recommendation to Haley? Don't inhale.
Representative Haley Stevens is a courageous leader who deserves the respect of every Michigan voter. She has conducted herself with nothing but class since the Democratic primary, a primary where a majority of voters did not vote for her party’s nominee.
She was absolutely right to call on Abdul El-Sayed to denounce the Rebellion PAC ad and she was right to call on him to apologize for espousing the same hateful ideology behind it.
Representative Stevens’ statement expressed a hope that Abdul El-Sayed “had heard the deep concerns of the Jewish Community.” It is as shameful as it is disappointing that his response to her clearly shows that he does not care about those concerns.
In her statement, the Congresswoman says, “ the Jewish and African-American communities of my district deserve to have someone show up for them, rather than fight over them.”
I agree with her and my campaign is about being there, showing up and defending these communities and all Michiganders.
Such a bind for @hinsonashley.
In announcing for the senate in Iowa, she pledged to be @realDonaldTrump's strongest ally. Helped her avoid a serious primary.
And she HAS been one of his strongest allies in the House.
But she's spent the last few weeks distancing herself from the now unpopular president, whose war and tariffs have punished Iowa more than any other state.
And on the final Sunday, she'll appear at his side, hoping he can make the difference in her razor close race w/@turek4iowa.

Funny
Replying to @ElizLanders
Oregon’s Secretary of State responding with this letter, which says at the end: “… my name is spelled R-E-A-D, as in ‘read the Constitution’… thank you for your attention to this matter”
As a young political reporter, I covered Sen. Birch Bayh's last race. One of the greatest campaigners I've ever seen.
This retro ad for bus grandson, Beau, who is running for Sec State in Indiana, is really fun.
Both sides are guilty of playing voters cheap.
The wise guy operatives who thought the Double Dan idea was clever; and @POTUS, who says Alaskans aren't smart enough to understand this language on the ballot:
"Dan S. Sullivan (Registered Republican) Incumbent."
Trump is just shopping for pretext to discount elections he fears his candidates will lose--not because voters are confused but because they are not.
Trump will rally in Kansas and Iowa after initially canceling weekend trips before midterms.
In canceling yesterday, they said no need for the rallies because these races were in the bag.
Better get their signals straight!

A great example.
Pope Leo XIV has voted in the midterm elections of the United States, expressing his “belief in the right and the duty of citizens to participate in democratic processes.”
The Holy See Press Office announced on Friday that Pope Leo XIV, an American citizen, "has exercised his right to vote as a United States citizen, whenever he was eligible to do so."
The Press Office confirmed that, “in keeping with this long-standing practice of civic participation, he has submitted his mail-in ballot in Chicago.”
“The Holy Father has also confirmed that, during his years of residence in Peru he exercised his right to vote whenever he was eligible to do so,” noted the statement.
PAxton's team said they hope to "reschedule" his Nov. 1 rally in El Paso. Someone better tell them the election is Nov. 3.
ABC 7 News: Ken Paxton cancels planned El Paso rally days before Election Day

Strategic retreat.
Trump has now canceled both rallies he was planning to hold this weekend (Kansas on Saturday & Iowa on Sunday), his advisers tell me & @Kevinliptakcnn
His team argues it’s so he can cover more ground with tele-rallies
He’ll be spending the weekend at Mar-a-Lago after a rally in Daytona Beach, FL tomorrow
.@jalenbrunson1 is a great player and a very decent, classy person.
A Graham Cracker?
(CNN) GOP Rep. Ralph Norman bashes Trump and Graham: South Carolina voters "deserve better"
“The voters in South Carolina are not buying the argument that everyone has to ‘settle’ for a candidate that has been propped up by special interest groups and a Republican president spending millions of dollars spreading false narratives about why Darline Graham is qualified to be elected to the U.S. Senate for the next six years!!” Norman wrote in a text message.
Norman added: “This election is about attempts to ‘force’ a candidate on the voters of S.C. And regardless of the outcome, it didn’t have to be this way as the great people living in South Carolina deserve ‘better!’ Bottom line!! Elections have consequences!!”
This is an exercise in turning a depraved ad and a horrific miscalculation into a symbol of strength.
Not sure Ohioans are going to agree.
🚨 BREAKING: Vivek Ramaswamy tells the Fake News outrage mob to SHOVE IT, he's NOT backing down after posting an ad of Amy Acton's mom calling her a liar
"You never start a fight — but if you find yourself in one, you FINISH IT...They've attacked ME. They DEFAMED my mother to media SILENCE."
"Yet at the same time, they'll trot out anything to attack a Republican." 💯
"The fact of the matter is I am running against somebody who is crazy, unstable and DISHONEST."
"If they actually believe these are unfair attacks, you know what my opponent would be doing? She'd be agreeing to show up on a debate with me, as I agreed to on CNN and NBC!"
There is no reason for @VivekGRamaswamy to apologize to these country-destroying Democrats.
Acton has refused EVERY live debate invitation in the Ohio governor's race — including CNN and NBC affiliate WLWT — while hiding from unscripted questions and running millions in personal smears against him and his family!
Amy Acton is getting the Kamala treatment. She must lose at all costs.
Just finished a quick speaking trip to Canada and was reminded all over again: Canadiens are really nice!
.@POTUS doesn't have great October surprise in his hand.
An end to the war would be great but seems out of reach.
A full-out return to combat would be a disaster.
But an 11th hour trade deal w/Canada is an option he still might pursue to help his senate candidates in Northern states.
