Our engagements in Shanghai, China, continues as a GCB Bank PLC delegation, led by Board Chairman Prof. Joshua Alabi and Managing Director Farihan Alhassan, paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Cross-Border Interbank Payment System (CIPS), led by its Chairman, Hangbo Wang. The landmark partnership introduces Yuan prepaid cards that enable direct Yuan payments on QR, POS, ATM and other merchant channels making payments in China more convenient for Ghanaian businesses, traders and travellers while reducing the need for intermediate currency conversions.
