Are you a success? I'm collecting stories about how our definitions of success change over time—and the gap between achievement and feeling successful. I'd love your perspective. Take my short survey: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…

Without AI, my wise old carpenter friend, Russ, who is dyslexic, would have no voice. It has changed his life. #SuccessTrain

Like all important life lessons, this is simple, Rich. When we give, we receive.
I had the best day on the best day to be in the best city in the world—supporting double amputee Cedric King across the finish line at the NYC marathon. A celebration of turning 60, Sunday was my first attempt at a new relationship with endurance. To use it not for ego driven reasons but as an opportunity to be of service. If you want a big life, make it about something much larger than yourself. That is my experience. That was my experience this past weekend—a marathon of a day that became a peak life experience I won’t soon forget. My message is this: I get getting after your goals. Be determined to turn your dreams into three-dimensional reality. But do your best to tether them to bettering others. Transcend the ego’s attachment to external validation and you will be rewarded with a purpose-driven life of profound and deep meaning.

Cracked Open: On Being a Man Russ grew up believing men should work hard, keep quiet, and never cry. I grew up trying to prove myself. Russ now believes he needs to talk. I now believe that maybe I’m enough. What does being a man mean to you? #SuccessTrain

We need about 20 pirates to serve the 3,000 kids that come to our home every Halloween. Here is my pirate family.

Good point, Susanna!

In some cases, there is no customer niche - that is the problem. There is a customer problem that puts the customers in the same bucket but this problem is the only thing they have in common.

Wise counsel, Amanda. How do we have opinions without becoming our opinions? If I feel like my opinions have been attacked, how do I make that not about me?

The million-dollar question, Gary! 😊 Some people will always be triggered when their beliefs or opinions are challenged, and there’s not much we can do about that. Society has always been that way, but social media has amplified it. I think the key is how we challenge people. We can question ideas without attacking the person behind them. Ask questions, encourage curiosity and give people room to think for themselves. We won’t change everyone’s mind, nor should that be the goal. But if we can encourage even a few people to pause and question what they believe, that’s a step in the right direction.

Final numbers are in. We had almost 3,000 trick or treaters on Saturday. Fun was had by all.

And hopefully they can learn from my many mistakes. #SuccessTrain
You don't need to prove your expertise in every post. Talk about what went wrong. What surprised you. What you learned along the way. Your experience shows people what your expertise looks like in practice.

I think it's however you show up. Fonts, colors, logo are all part of it, but I still think it's just one word: promise. No matter what, you can always count on me to be. . .pick a word or two.
Your brand is not your fonts, colors, logo and slogan. It is the picture people get of you through your stories, content, actions and communication.

Cracked Open: On Belonging I need to feel like I belong. Family. Friends. Community. Russ says he doesn't need it. “What do you call 50 years in Emotions Anonymous?” I asked him. “Habit,” he said. Is belonging essential for you? #JoyTrain #SuccessTrain

Cracked Open: On Being a Swede My wife has a sign in our kitchen: "You can always tell a Swede, but you can't tell him much." Russ says my "No" is the loudest he's ever heard. What do people tease you about? #SuccessTrain

As Shakespeare wrote: "Brevity is the soul of wit."
Your introduction isn't there to prove how much you know. It's there to make readers want to read the rest. Get to the point. Make the promise clear. Then deliver on it.

Same here.
Is this just me? The best post ideas come from comments I make on other peoples’ posts.

I try to do all of these every night.
