The countdown begins: nine days of grind, no balance, no rest, just the pursuit of one perfect hour.
These final sprints before a big show feel like they take years off your life.
It’s round-the-clock work: finishing every piece of music I can, endless work on production. Consuming too much caffeine, running on little sleep. The 9-to-5, then the 8-to-2 on the same day. Life, workouts, admin: all forgotten. Nothing matters but the show.
Each time I’m in this grind, I quietly question myself. Is the price worth it, for an hour of music? Because, even with months of preparation, there is no guarantee that things go well.
But the ones that do go well? They live on forever. On YouTube, and in people mind’s and hearts. People still talk to me about sets that were decades ago. Sometimes, they tell me that a night meant more to them than I could ever know.
Those are the memories I hold onto when I’m deep in the grind.

ah i love this! back when i wrote it, everyone thought 7 minutes was way too long and it needed cutting down - glad I kept it exactly as it was, and love seeing that it’s still out there doing good in the world!
