Gitter has at last gone fully Matrix-native - app.gitter.im is now a branded version of Element! 🚀 All your history should be still there, imported into Matrix; we’ve tried to make the transition as seamless as possible. See blog.gitter.im/2023/02/13/gi… for full details.

Scheduled maintenance for the gitter.im homeserver will happen on Wednesday, April 26th (2023-04-26) starting around 06:00 UTC. This will involve 15 minutes of downtime for the host and longer for media upload/download as both get migrated to EKS. And a DNS update.

We're working on deploying gitter.im from a new source and changing DNS. Please bear with us with any interruptions today.

Gitter appears to be responding normal again ✅. We saw a small bump in 504 errors for 15 minutes that we're chalking up to a load balancer hiccup for now since it occurred across the Gitter webapp and developer.gitter.im
We're investigating the 504 Gateway Time-out errors seen while accessing Gitter rooms 🏃
Whoa, threaded responses now work seamlessly across Gitter and Matrix! 🎉 Nice work @MadLittleMods! 💪

Hi folks - we’ve been having major operational problems since the AWS power outage earlier today. We’re doing our best to fix as rapidly as possible; meanwhile please note folks can still access the Matrix view of their rooms at matrix.to/#/#org_repo:gitter….

And we're back. The outage was caused by a failure to recover gracefully from an earlier AWS power outage. Thank you for bearing with us.
