The ad is anti-Semitic. (Also pretty glib and tasteless, but whatever!) I'm not lying or paid to say this. I don't equate being anti-Israel with being anti-Semitic. but also not saying the word "Jewish" isn't the one weird trick you want it to be.
Only good that can come from you promoting yourself at the expense of Abdul's campaign in the final days of an election where the stakes are so high is that you've created an opportunity for Abdul to denounce the ad and demonstrate his commitment to opposing anti-Semitism on the left and representing Jewish voters in Michigan as a Senator.
Anyone saying @RebellionPac groceries ad in Michigan is antisemitic is not only an obvious liar, but also an antisemite themselves. The ad never mentions Jewish people, it's strictly about Israel. But people like @VanJones68 put the blame on Jews instead, to protect Israel.
You ever order a lunch delivery that turns out so badly you need to just start all over? Saddest time.

Again: people see AI and its current direction of travel as inextricably tied to the rigged-ness of the economy.
Young people a good example: AI keeps them from getting a job. AI takes their job. AI isolates them.

This is such a bleak story about what it's like to try to land a job right now. nytimes.com/interactive/2026…

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.

I led AI policy in the Biden administration, and my colleague @tantumscollins was Director for Technology on the National Security Council. Our book on AI and national security -- THE BITTER STRUGGLE -- comes out in 11 days. @tylercowen said it “will become the standard source” on the history of the China chip bans and Biden-era AI policy. @crmiller1 said it is “essential reading for understanding how AI will impact geopolitics and how the great powers are shaping AI.”
We wrote this book because the decisions shaping AI -- and the future for all of us -- are too important to only be debated behind closed doors. If you're planning on reading it, pre-ordering is one of the best ways to help us bring this conversation to a broader audience.

Patrick was one of those icons who we somehow all took for granted would always be with us.
I grew up as a fan, and was later gifted the privilege of becoming a colleague and friend, working with him for many years on “American Dad!”, “Family Guy”, and “Ted”. He was that rare actor who could take any bit of dialogue and elevate it, making a good writer sound great, and a great writer sound masterful. He was also as humble as they come. I remember exchanging emails with him a number of years ago when he was beginning day 1 of a new film. He commented to me that he always walked onto a new set feeling like the biggest novice there. My stunned reaction was the same as anyone’s would be. I said, “Patrick, if you feel that way, the rest of us are screwed.” We have lost a legendary actor today, and for many of us, a good friend. He will be deeply missed by the entire planet.

When I was in college I went into the city to see Patrick Stewart as Prospero in The Tempest at the Broadhurst Theatre. An absolutely electric performance where he had an amazing dance number. The only time I’ve ever stagedoored and he was as gracious as you could imagine.
RIP to a legend, a captain and my forever Gurney.

One subtle strength of Obama is that there's a large mass — not elite — audience that likes people who make *them* feel smarter for following along. This is how Christopher Nolan movies gross a zillion dollars, for example. It's a very difficult skill, Bill Clinton also has it.
I hope people will study this clip to notice:
-- how Obama seems authentic and relatable without apologizing for his obvious intelligence or seeming to talk down.
-- how he adapts his speaking style to his audience.
-- how he invites his audience to live in the moment with him.
Very few people can do what he's doing here. Obama is a supreme political talent, and I hope the next generation of leaders is studying his every move, not just to imitate him, but to identify similar talents among themselves.

I mean look, AI is hard. I’ve been wrong about many aspects of it and most of the smartest people I follow have been wrong about *something.*
But Ed has been claiming peak AI for more than two years. This is almost literally like covering the Intel IPO in 1971 by bringing on somebody who claimed that Moore’s Law (written in 1965) had peaked in 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, and 1970. It’s not illegal to do this, but your source is confidently commenting on a phenomenon his previous commentary considered impossible.
“Is this just a big circle jerk?” Jon welcomes Ed Zitron (@edzitron), host of the podcast Better Offline, to make sense of the financial house of cards propping up AI and big tech. New pod out now!

Why anyone would go toe to toe with Obama is beyond me.
OBAMA: The president wasn't even mad. About The Saddam Hussein comparison. That part didn't bother him. But he was very upset about The Cheesecake Factory. He took great umbrage. He said I didn't understand the work of the artisans in the White House.
They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke.

i shit you not -- Obama is speaking about Trump's poor character in Georgia at THE EXACT SAME TIME Trump is bragging about passing dementia tests in Ohio

OBAMA: I inherited this major financial crisis. I never called my Treasury Secretary and said, “You've got to go to Arby's. Order roast beef. No cheese though that may look elitist.”
They don't have solutions to actual problems, so they'd rather have the media and you talking about the Cheesecake Factory.
