I started talking mental health 15 years ago. It is obvious to me that attempts to reach men have totally failed.
The "its okay not to be okay" campaigns don't resonate with most men.
I have ideas how to reach those men. Iβm building an AI-driven platform with animation, characters, and personalized journeys β and Iβm looking for a creative technologist who can translate the chaos from my brain into reality.
If βjob securityβ matters more than impact, this isnβt for you.
If building something uncomfortable excites you, letβs talk.
This is paid work β not charity.

Will tell.
Thanks Chris. And thanks @RealLAKnight.
Funny. The thing I get credit for- more than I deserve- are those original OTR wrestling interviews. The real credit belonged to @JeffMarek who gave me the best, most inside, most revealing questions. No one else could have done what he did. I have amazing memories and I have stories from those days Iβve never told. Oh and @ChrisVanVliet is terrific.
I don't know if he'd be interested but I would love @ChrisVanVliet to interview the OG @heylandsberg. In the grand scheme of things Mike doesn't get enough credit for opening doors & getting wrestlers to drop the gimmick & tell their stories. It would be a cool interview
You owe me nothing. You gave me gold to ask and since those days I have heard about it regularly. Honestly- I doubt anyone in history benefited more than me from the voice in an earpiece.
I remember Mark Calaway saying βwow, how the hell did you know that?β I can now reveal the answer- Jeff Marek.
Comedic genius.
Trump: βWe treasure justice, fairness, honesty, and human dignity, unlike societies based on class, clan, or tribe. In America, we speak English that is the language of our founding. For 1000 years, that has been the language of freedom.β @Acyn (2026)
Well Iβve never taken a real punch either.
Canβt believe @CMPunk would get upset at a classic heel turn by @heylandsberg ! Settle it in the ring. Hair spray on a pole match.
I can answer
Punk had left WWE for UFC.
The first question I asked was βhave you ever taken a real punch?β
I also made a joke in a video we did about Punk (a Vegan) fighting Chef Boyardee.
He got pissed. He accused me of being nice to him before the show and then turning on him.
Thank you for taking the time to comment.
I have spoken to thousands of people with depression and every single one of us share many of the same experiences- with it- and yet still almost every single one of us thinks no one could possibly understand the pain.

@heylandsberg I just listened to your interview on Spittin Chiclets. I played hockey for a large part of my life and spent the past 17 years working for the RCMP. Your description of depression is spot. I with PTSD, depression and anxiety so thank you.
@spittinchiclets
Dude. Thank you for that. A lifetime of mental illness just paid off!
Seriously- thanks to @ryanwhitney6 @BizNasty2point0 and @KYandle93 for putting me on. Special thanks to my depression, anxiety and ADHD for the inspiration and a huge shoutout to Escitalopram, Wellbutrin and Vyvanse for making it all possible.

@heylandsberg I am loyal listener and that was one of the greatest interviews in the shows history.
I offer the same props to @spittinchiclets @ryanwhitney6 @BizNasty2point0 and also @KYandle93. These guys became stars because they are fun, candid, silly, interesting and humble. Today it was obvious that theyβre also smart, caring and really interested in making a difference. Good on them. As I told them- they have the best platform on earth to change the way men see mental health.
Massive, enormous, humongous props to @spittinchiclets @ryanwhitney6 @BizNasty2point0 for bringing on @heylandsberg to discuss mental health, specifically menβs mental health. Such a big topic and a great move by you guys. Thank you for using your platform for this.
Caring for someone who has a mental illness can be extraordinarily difficult. Sometimes you need to be reminded: βDonβt give up on a person with a mental illness when they act like a person with mental illness.β
I know this. People havenβt given up on me.

Thanks for the really kind words. I carry the reaction to that article with me every second. I learned that people need to feel understood. Imagine this- One woman told me her friend died by suicide and referenced the story it in the note she left behind. Here is what I wrote. Broke my heart to reread it. tsn.ca/nhl/depression-and-myβ¦

I donβt know if your article for your friend Wade Belak is archived on the TSN site, but I read it annually and anytime Iβm feeling like disappearing into myself
Thanks for being such a powerful voice Michael π
My rules for the "check in".
1. Ask. Regularly. Don't quit after one "I'm fine."
2. Explain why you're asking. Give specific evidence as to why your concerned. IE. "you dont seem like yourself, and here's why..."
3. Ask rhetorical questions like "I want to know if you're mentally okay. its fine if you don't want to answer me- but answer yourself, and be honest."
4. The key question for all of us: Does your mental health allow you to live your best life?

@heylandsberg These past two days athletes are reminding us to βcheck on our teammates and check on each otherβ. What does βcheckβ look like, Michael? I donβt want to miss anything.
Thank you. - PG
Lyndon Byers was my buddy. He was an amazing man. He was naturally funny and could both dish it and take it. He knew he had CTE. Years ago he told me he would find himself in his car 50 miles from home with no idea how he got there. Hereβs why I say he was an amazing man: He was a character. He had character. And his character never changed, no matter what he was going through.
Beautifully put Darren.
When Claude did OTR the first time (he was likely on 20 times) I was shocked at what a lovely, humble, caring soul he was. The show I remember best- was the day he and Darren were reunited for the first time off ice. So human so real.
Ugh. Mental illness. He knew about mine. I wish I knew about his.

Just heard the news on #ClaudeLemieux
This is extremely sad no matter what feelings from past or present you hold. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends and people who got to see the person off the ice wasnβt the person on. As Iβve said and will always call it as I see it
βIf your on the ICE with Claude Lemieux and your turn your back. YOU Are an IDIOT.
But off the ICE Iβll turn mineβ
And please. If you are struggling at all please reach out and talk to someone
Godspeed my friend

The politicians who cowered and hid while Capitol Police fought for their lives have not said one word. Not about the pardons. Not about the $5 million to Ashli Babbitt's family. Not about compensating the rioters who beat the cops who saved them. The silence of the protected is the final insult to the protectors. America β is there anything left that embarrasses you?

These people should be jailed. They're openly robbing their citizens blind, then expect a congratulatory pat on the back. Remember this on Midterm Day. Vote them all out!
Thanks so much Jose. I got to do so many amazing things in TV. But as I said yesterday when I started- getting on stage and speaking about mental illness is by far the best thing Iβve ever done. Pure joy for me.

@heylandsberg Thank You Very Much for your incredibly inspiring and insightful speech at Chatham. As a lifelong sufferer of depression and anxiety I truly felt seen. God Bless. #sicknotweak
