With rising fuel costs putting more pressure on our trucking industry, we asked the SC Department of Public Safety to suspend routine dyed diesel fuel inspections, and we’re glad to see action being taken!
These inspections are now suspended through December 31, 2026, helping reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens on the hardworking truckers who keep our state moving.
We’ll keep looking for ways to cut red tape, lower costs, and make it easier to do business in South Carolina!
Given the uncertainty of regulation permitting the use of dyed fuel in other states, the South Carolina State Transport Police has suspended routine dyed fuel inspections on commercial vehicles through December 31, 2026.
The State Transport Police will continue all other commercial motor vehicle safety enforcement, including size & weight, hazardous material inspections, and general traffic enforcement.
