The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Office of Additional DGFT, Hyderabad, and the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana, organised a State-Level Mega Outreach Programme on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to familiarise exporters and industry stakeholders with emerging global trade opportunities. The discussions focused on identifying sector-specific and district-level export potential, understanding preferential market access and enabling local enterprises, particularly MSMEs, to leverage India's FTAs. Strengthening coordination between the Centre, State governments and industry will be key to translating these trade agreements into greater export opportunities for Telangana. GeM Samvad 2026 highlighted reforms aimed at making government procurement more accessible and affordable for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). The measures include lower transaction charges, reduced OEM assessment fees and improved access to finance. The GeM–Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) partnership is also expanding awareness and digital onboarding through its nationwide outreach. LUB plans to further strengthen this effort through regular virtual conferences and dedicated facilitation counters, helping more MSEs understand and access government procurement opportunities.
