It wouldn't be Halloween without my favorite Witches ♡ 🧙‍♀️The Bad Witch🧙 There is no room, on her broom For any extra passengers. Taking flight, every night For street cleaning scavengers. Not too clean, she's really mean And will take away your things. With a verse, inflicts a curse And a deadly spell it brings. Moving slow, being a crow Or did she turn you to stone? Locked in a cave, being a slave Or freeze dried to the bone. Maybe a rabbit, an old habit The bad witch always makes. Turned to dust, or maybe rust Like particles of floating flakes. Treat her badly, she will gladly Turn you into a bat. Push her more, then you score A hundred years as a cat. Try to be nice, there is a price As she buries you in a ditch. Kills your soul and plays the role Of the one and only bad witch. 🧙The Good Witch🧙‍♀️ There's plenty of room on her broom For anyone who wants to be nice. Flying all day, coming your way Kindness does not have a price. Gives you candy, can be handy With odd jobs around the house. Don't you fret, she will help a pet A dog, a cat and even a mouse. If she's able, she'll fill your table With lots of food to eat. Give you clothes, covers your toes With shoes for both your feet. Maybe a smile, all the while Blessing you with her love. Her creation is a sensation Happiness from up above. Always glad to happily add An extra helping hand. Clears a path, helps with math To better understand. Not one spell does she tell Anger she does not pitch. Every Halloween she is seen As the one and only good witch. I have been so consumed with keeping my strength and courage in tact, I almost forgot to share my favorite Halloween recipe 🧙‍♀️ A Witches Brew That time of year, to give a scare To the children in the neighborhood. Tasty little critters will get the jitters When I'm cooking them over wood. Cast iron pot will be real hot And ready for a delicious stew. It is a feast, to say the least An all day simmered brew. A tisket a tasket, a girl in a basket And a little boy for some flavor. Throw them in and then begin A delightful taste to savor. A daffodil or Lily, a dash of powdered chili A bit of seasoning for taste. One child's coat, an ear from a goat Leave nothing left for waste. A splitter, a splatter, mix-up the batter Don't you want some pie? A crust to make, then off to bake Set the temperature on high. Hands, toes and a tiny nose Sure will make a tasty treat. Pie and stew will take a few Before they are ready to eat. Back to the yard, it won't be hard To scare the children some more. Collect them all, small and tall There are recipes to explore. Safe in jars or behind bars We keep a charming crew. What we eat off the street Is a delicious witches brew. Getting all that was buried inside the cellar wall of my childhood home is slowly becoming a reality. I should be posting positive, uplifting posts like I used too. But how can I? Knowing what I know? I carried the secrets of my childhood for decades! If I wanted to be in their lives then I couldn't ask about Pleasant Street BUT WHY??? They shunned me, belittled me, shamed me and silenced me each and every time. I truly believed that they were ashamed, embarrassed or felt guilty... but those were NEVER the reasons. While it all finally makes sense to me why my 'family' treated me as they did, I am so disgustingly heartbroken to know what I know! As I await for a horror that will only become more horrifying, I invite you to read my powerful true story of inhumane torture, monstrous intent and a serial killing predator protected under cruel family secrets. amazon.com/dp/1953610161 amazon.com/dp/1953610382 nfbpublishing.com/ #booksworthreading #truecrime #truestory

When strangers became the heroes we all needed ♡   A Strangers Hero  An act of terrorism A foreign man's will. What he did, the day The world stood still. No act of evil Could ever compare. As we heard the news Terrorism was here. The planes had crashed So many lives lost. Their souls not forgotten No matter the cost. Strangers came together And friendships were bound. Assuring families Loved ones would be found. As days went by It just got worse. But hearts of strangers Was our only source. Believing in faith And through God's will. We all came together The day the world stood still. Every day is another day closer to proper authorities retrieving all that was buried inside the cellar wall of my childhood home back in August 1981-July 1982. From police, detectives, to the DA's office and investigative journalists... these past eight years have been filled with highs, lows and a whole lot of patience as I await a horror that is only going to get more horrifying. For the longest time, it never made sense to me... How could 'my family' be that cruel? Maybe big brother was embarrassed for not protecting me? Maybe he was ashamed for not helping me? Maybe he felt guilty for shunning me away like a worthless piece of trash? In August 2025, the reality of it all came crashing down on me as I sat inside the Lowell Police Department. He wasn't embarrassed, ashamed or guilty and it was never about his 'lack of remembering.' It was always about what he hoped that I would always forget; that damn cellar wall! For so long, I gave that brother excuses, and now... it all makes sense. Behind the scenes, things are rapidly cooking and in the meantime, my days end knowing what I know; the hard core truth of it all. It really is the knowing... that hurts. Read my powerful true story of inhumane torture, monstrous intent and a serial killing predator protected under cruel family secrets. amazon.com/dp/1953610161 amazon.com/dp/1953610382 nfbpublishing.com/ #booksworthreading #truestory #truecrime

I am honored to have my short story, 'My Spontaneous Grandpa' included in this EPUB collaboration alongside eleven other authors. A huge thank you to C.S McGrail for putting this project together. My Spontaneous Grandpa is from my 33 Cases of Karma ( A thirty-three short story collection coming out in 2027.) It's based on an experience I had back in 1986 and the unexpected drive to Florida I took on one sunny afternoon as I walked to my job at Dunkin Donuts. Of course I never made it to work that day, but I surely netted my sixteen year old self with one heck of a rewarding heartwarming adventure ♡ Click on the link and start reading for free today ♡ dl.bookfunnel.com/dgjjaqchj7 #booksworthreading #Free #download #readers

Knowing what I know; the waiting, the patience, knowing a horror is only going to get more horrifying. It's like being backstage while sitting in a front row seat. My friend Jon used to tell me that I would have to remember it all for it to make sense. Repressed memories in 2015/2016 help me to remember it all, but it still didn't make sense to me. Some may say my life is about to drastically change, but that happened back in 2016 when I no longer carried the weight of unanswered questions on my shoulders. For so long, I gave that brother excuses, and now... it all makes sense. Behind the scenes, things are rapidly cooking and in the meantime, my days end knowing what I know; the hard core truth of it all. It really is the knowing... that hurts. Hello and happy summertime to you all ♡ My poetry found a home in my published books and occasionally they like to partake in a Writer's Guild Publication. These books are full of color, poetry and art, from all around the world and how lucky am I to be included in such a prestigious publication? This summer I will be visiting Florida in July, moving out of my daughter's and into my own place in August and the horrifying reality of my childhood home is finally in the hands of people who will see to it that justice is served. I always had two questions for my older brother, two questions he would never answer; Why didn't you protect me? Why didn't you call the police? Nearly forty-five years later, all I have for him now is two words... "Tick tock." You can find my heartbreaking memoir, an understanding of childhood trauma, an undeniable friendship and all of my poetry here... amazon.com/~/e/B08W9LLPFN nfbpublishing.com/ I wish you all a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead 💋 #booksworthreading #truecrime #truestory #poetry #courage

Why did I write this story? Will it happen someday? Thank you! Share yours, follow, be kind. #ShamelessSelfpromoWednesday Thank you so very much! "We were especially fascinated by the underground bunker system and the ingenuity behind its design. The interconnected technologies, from underground fisheries and thermal energy systems to innovative methods of managing volcanic magma, create a world that feels both meticulously planned and entirely believable. These elements elevate the novel beyond traditional disaster fiction by presenting survival as a complex scientific and societal challenge. The scientific aspects of the story are complemented by memorable characters facing impossible decisions. President Joyce Zimmerman, General James Tilson, and Dr. Theodore Grey each bring unique perspectives to the crisis, balancing leadership, sacrifice, and hope while confronting the possibility of global extinction. Their determination to continue searching for solutions, despite repeated setbacks, makes the novel both suspenseful and inspiring. We also appreciated the cinematic quality of your writing. The haunting descriptions of ash-covered landscapes, abandoned airports, collapsing infrastructure, and life beneath the surface vividly capture both the devastation above ground and the fragile hope preserved below it. These striking settings immerse readers completely in the story's high-stakes environment." I first heard this song seventeen years ago as Mass General Hospital prepared to transfer my then sixteen-year-old daughter to Spaulding Rehab. It played in the room, halls and ambulance. As we arrived at Spaulding, it played in the parking lot, hallways and elevators until finally, her new room. A song Spaulding Rehab dedicated to their new patient 💙 Today makes 20 years since my children lost their beloved Papa Foote. Today should be Luis's 34th birthday and Today is a day my Sami needs all the love, hugs and smiles possible! She may have walked her last walk seventeen years ago today, but her inspiring stroll has taken her to Climb even the biggest mountains life has thrown her way. Love You My Sami Girl ⚘️ It ain't about how fast you get there, it ain't about what's waiting on the other side, it's about...The Climb ♡ @MileyCyrus Thank you for the seventeen years of #inspiration youtube.com/watch?v=NG2zyeVR…

Trying once more. If you buy a Paperback copy of Earth's Last Hope between June 14th - 20th, you might win a new Chrome book or gift cards ranging from $10 to $100!!! Message me your screenshot. I must sell 5,000 Paperback copies in one week to become a USA Today Best-Selling Author! Universal link is mybook.to/ELH26Paperback "Earth’s Last Hope" by Mary L. Schmidt is a fascinating sci-fi disaster book that takes a total left turn halfway through the plot. It starts off feeling like a traditional prepper story but quickly escalates into a deep-state military thriller. I appreciated the grounded, everyday tone the author uses to show what life would be like inside an underground bunker. I especially loved the focus on training the teens to take over complex operations because it adds a smart, long-term layer to the survival strategy, showing that the community is actively planning instead of just waiting around. The casual, easy-flowing dialogue makes it feel like you are overhearing genuine families navigating a global disaster. By blending the harsh truths of an environmental collapse with uplifting, relatable moments, the book transforms into an unexpectedly touching story of survival. It’s an engaging read that avoids a ton of tech jargon while keeping the stakes high. I recommend it to fans of military sci-fi, intense environmental doomsday stories, or anyone who loves a good government conspiracy twist.

If her life hasn’t broken her, her story, told unflinchingly, can't break the readers. It can only make them richer in understanding and stronger for not averting their eyes from the painful, uncomfortable truth. @Irishgirl692 My review: evekoguce.com/2026/06/11/a-c…
