✈️ Dambusters on deck. Next stop: the High North. 617 Squadron, the Dambusters, are embarked aboard HMS Prince of Wales, bringing F-35B carrier airpower to the UK Carrier Strike Group as it continues national and NATO operations across the North Atlantic. Supporting Arctic Sentry, the deployment strengthens Allied presence, extends operational reach and reinforces NATO’s ability to deter and defend across the region. @NATO | @SHAPE_NATO | @STRIKFORNATO | @NATOJFCBS | @JFC_Naples | @NATO_MARCOM | @NATO_AIRCOM | @COMUKCSG | @DefenceOps | @UKNATO | @GenGJenkinsRM | @RoyalNavy | @UKCDS_MOD | @UKdefenceUS | @DefenceHQ | @HMSPWLS

As he leaves his appointment as Standing Joint Force Commander, Maj Gen Tom Bateman reflects on a period that strengthened the JEF's credibility, connectivity and operational effectiveness. “Leading SJFHQ and serving as JEF Operational Commander has been a huge privilege. The professionalism, friendship and commitment shown by our participant nations have been remarkable, and I am profoundly grateful to have shared this journey with you. “While my chapter with the JEF comes to a close, my belief in its purpose and potential remains as strong as ever. It has been an honour to serve alongside you all.” Thank you, Sir, and fair winds as you pass the baton to Maj Gen Olly Brown. #JEFTogether 🇩🇰🇪🇪🇫🇮🇮🇸🇱🇻🇱🇹🇳🇱🇳🇴🇸🇪🇬🇧

❄️ Arctic readiness is built by operating in the Arctic. More than 350 Canadian Armed Forces personnel 🇨🇦 took part in Operation NANOOK-NUNAKPUT 2026, strengthening the ability to deploy, operate and sustain forces across Canada’s remote North. Surveillance, air and land mobility, heavy equipment movement and integrated air, land and maritime activity put Arctic readiness into practice. Supporting NATO’s Arctic Sentry, the operation contributed to greater awareness, stronger deterrence and collective defence across the Arctic. 📷Canadian Armed Forces @SHAPE_NATO | @LANDCMD | @CJOC_COIC | @CanadaNATO | @CanadianForces | @RoyalCanNavy | @CanadianArmy | @RCAF_ARC | @CoastGuardCAN

🇬🇧 🇩🇰 🇫🇴 From history, we draw strength. From partnership, we build the future.   For the first time since WWII, @RoyalMarines have returned to the Faroe Islands as part of Exercise #LionProtector26.   Across the dramatic volcanic landscape, UK Commandos, Danish and Faroese forces have trained together — boarding vessels, landing on rugged coastlines and operating in some of the North Atlantic’s most demanding terrain.   But this is about more than an exercise.   It is about trust built through action. Readiness forged together. And allies standing shoulder-to-shoulder to protect the waters, people and freedoms we share.   For further details on the exercise: royalnavy.mod.uk/news/2026/o… @forsvaretdk @DefenceHQ @JFCNorfolk @RoyalNavy @RoyalAirForce @BritishArmy @GenGJenkinsRM

Defending the Atlantic is fundamental. Royal Marines returned to the Faroe Islands for the first time since WW2 to work alongside Danish and Faroese counterparts as part of bolstered allied security efforts in the strategically vital GIUK Gap. ➡️royalnavy.mod.uk/news/2026/o…
