China’s national security is not yours to challenge. And Hong Kong is not a bridgehead for foreign political forces to destabilize China under the banner of “democracy.” China will not accept the double standards Western countries apply to the enforcement of national security laws. Hong Kong is China’s Hong Kong. You cannot work to undermine Hong Kong and then, when your attempts are thwarted, cry about a “violation of freedoms.” Criminals do not have the freedom to commit crimes.
