I’m sure the New York Times will be all over this
Massive midterm con in the super-close Nevada gov race — GOP is propping up third-party spoiler candidate Danielle Ford to siphon votes from surging Dem candidate, @AaronDFordNV. They’re falsely implying she’s endorsed by AOC in mailers and Snapchat ads.

This is invaluable journalism, and kudos to the AP for doing the hard work to report it out. Could I ask that the media writ large give this the same level of attention as it did the Cheesecake Factory kerfuffle b/c DOD has very clearly hidden this information from the public.

I don’t mean to imply the media didn’t cover previous incidents like this but when Republicans did ballot stacking in Alaska in 2024 or when Republicans successfully unseated a Dem incumbent in Florida by running a ghost candidate with the same last name in 2020 @cnn absolutely did not go around treating it like an October surprise and chasing voters to ask if that activity would change their votes.
I’ll remind everyone that Republicans engaged in rampant gerrymandering this cycle, even going so far as to defy their own state constitutions (Florida, Missouri) or voter referendums (Utah) to do so and the whole issue has now disappeared from political news discourse.
I need for journalists to understand people who consume their reporting are not idiots and see these double standards. @thelauracoates

I just want to be clear the media has never done this for Republicans when they play these kind of tricks, which literally happened very recently in Florida.
CNN: Did it impact your vote at all?
Alaska Voter: Not a bit.
CNN: Can you tell who's who here?
AV: Absolutely. You've got Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. and then you have Sullivan Dan, who's a registered Republican and incumbent. And I don't even have my glasses on. It's pretty clear it's in black and white. It's very clear.

These dorky lil silly gooses are so funny. “Why would we have women around if it could just be us men making babies????” I dunno, man. Sounds like you gotta do the math on your own internal chalkboard to solve that one

It’s just crazy how literally nothing can break the perception that republicans are fiscally conservative. It does not matter that republicans have exploded the debt and deficit every time for the last 50 years, people still insist they’re fiscally conservative

Don't worry Pete, concerns over the national debt and the budget deficit will come back in 2029 assuming a Democrat is President. These issues don't matter when Republicans are handing rich people trillions in tax cuts, something you and the rest of the elite media know well.
The national debt has reached 100% of GDP for the first time in 80 years. But candidates are silent. In 2018, 140 political ads talked about the debt or deficit. This year, just 30 did, ranking 52nd among campaign topics. @RichardRubinDC @davidluhnow wsj.com/economy/fiscal-hawks…

This kernel of truth tells you 75% of the "media bias" debate. A more extreme version of it is why the Times spent 2016 doing an extensive multipart hit series on the Clinton based on research funded by Steve Bannon.

Just last month, DoorDash couldn’t seem to find the money to pay their deliveristas — until our administration forced them to give back $131M+ in stolen wages and penalties.
This week, they’ve managed to find $17 billion to acquire one of their main competitors.
Corporate consolidation means higher prices, harsher exploitation, and greater economic inequality for New Yorkers.
We’ve stood up to these giants before. That doesn’t stop now.

Just wanted to remind folks that notes taken by the then-Deputy AG in Dec. 2020 quote Trump as saying "Just say the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me ..." This is a six year old playbook he's now implementing with his lackeys and the media playing right along with it.
