We are excited to shine a spotlight on Ms. Simons!
After many years teaching 5th Grade ELAR, Ms. Simons returned home to La Porte to embrace a new adventure teaching self-contained 2nd grade. Despite the challenges of a new district, campus, and grade level, she has remained committed to growing for the benefit of her students.
With the support of her team, Ms. Simons has wholeheartedly embraced Bluebonnet Math. Each time we visit her classroom, we see increased confidence and intentionality in her instruction. Her ability to explain mathematical concepts, make meaningful connections, and engage students in learning is truly admirable.
Even more exciting, we are seeing growth in both her confidence and her students' data!
Ms. Simons is a wonderful example of embracing change, remaining committed to learning, and continually growing for students. We are so proud of her and grateful for the passion and dedication she brings to her classroom.

We are excited to spotlight La Porte High School senior and future educator Mallorie Blagg, who wrapped up an eight-hour job-shadowing experience with Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson this morning, capping off her time with an in-depth interview and a closer look at leadership in public education.
We are looking forward to BIG things from Mallorie! Not only is she one of the top academic students in the area, but she is also an incredibly well-rounded young woman who exemplifies the leadership, character, and dedication that will serve her well in the future. She embodies everything that makes the La Porte Advantage special.
