A bit late of a post, but these magical storms in Nebraska on 6/3/26 will forever be in my heart. Had a blast on this storm chase with @OswegoChasers. More posts to come! #newx

@OswegoChasers is heading home! Was a wonderful chase with many great supercell thunderstorms, rapidly rotating wall clouds, multiple funnel clouds, rainbows, amazing mammatus clouds at sunset, and at least 2 tornadoes! We move on to our research project phase next when students analyze data from the storms we saw and present this week! Thank you, Ethan Pierce, for the great funnel shot! @sunyoswego

Our likely last chase day of 2026 gave us a special show: another mothership supercell thunderstorm! So many of these great structures this trip! #NEwx @OswegoChasers @sunyoswego

An incredible end to today with beautiful storm structure, unique scenery, and more rotations than we could count. Tomorrow is a new day- where will the winds take us next?

After our morning forecast discussion, the crew is setting up for a late show today in southern South Dakota and playing our favorite game: Will storms initiate to our east or west? Which environment is most favorable? We'll stay put until we have a better idea!

The chasers are headed towards Reliance, SD after much deliberation on whether to chase in northern or southern South Dakota. Our forecast team anticipates that the conditions are more favorable in the south despite much discussion of conditions further north.

Today was slightly uneventful - convection failed throughout most of the day, which we speculate was due to the lack of lower level shear. However, we did have a brief supercell that produced a funnel (possibly). Also nice to see fellow chasers and DOW-8 folks. Onto tomorrow!
