When @ToyotaUK National Marketing Manager, Rachel, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND), her colleagues were determined to make a difference. That determination has now reached an incredible milestone: £1 million raised for the MND Association! 🎉 Toyota GB is now the first corporate fundraising partner in our history to reach this milestone. What began as a three-year partnership has grown into something extraordinary, powered by the generosity of colleagues, retailers, partners and boosted by company donations and match funding. From marathons and cycling challenges to cake sales, auctions, and even sponging the directors, every effort has helped support people living with and affected by MND. Over the years, Toyota UK’s fundraising has helped fund vital support services, specialist equipment and research — improving lives today and creating hope for the future. To everyone at Toyota UK: thank you, congratulations and very well done. 🎉

What connects a conversation about swallowing, an assessment of someone’s home and a discussion about emotional wellbeing? Each draws on different professional expertise. Yet all have the same, shared goal - providing support which is centred on the person with MND. Today, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care @YvetteCooperMP spoke about our ongoing work with the Department of Health and Social Care (@DHSCgovuk) to develop a fast-track care and support pathway for people living with MND. People with MND often face long waits for the care and support they need, so it's encouraging to hear this commitment reaffirmed today. We will continue to push for these changes to be introduced as quickly as possible, so people affected by MND can access the support they need without delay.

Before MND, George spent 80-hour weeks working on the dairy farm he helped grow from a small family business to a thriving enterprise. 🐄 After his diagnosis in 2020, he had to step back from the work he loved, but with support from the MND Association, including equipment, grants and practical help, he's focused on making the most of every moment with his family. 🧡 Read George's story and how support from our community has helped him adapt to life with MND. 🔗mndassociation.org/our-impac…

Despite huge strides in our understanding of MND in recent years, what causes the disease in most people remains one of the biggest unanswered questions. We’re determined to change this. If we can work out what causes the disease, we’ll have the best chance of working out how to prevent it. That’s why we’re joining forces with @MNDoddie5 to increase investment in research into the causes of MND. Read more here.🔗mndassociation.org/media/lat…

Last night, the Kevin Sinfield documentary aired on BBC, "Thank You, Sir Kev", celebrating the incredible impact he’s had on the MND community through the money he’s raised and the awareness he’s brought to Motor Neurone Disease. He knows like we do, that the fight against MND doesn’t stop at the finish line. This is a behind the scenes look at our campaign, 'Life stripped Away'. It tells the stories of Jaki, Steve, Tahira and Lorraine, who are all living with MND, and who all generously shared their stories with us. They are a powerful reminder of why this work matters - and why there’s still so much more to do. Help us stop MND.

We welcome the Government’s plan to end the Carer’s Allowance cliff edge, so earning a little more no longer means losing everything. Unpaid carers make a huge difference to people living with MND, and today’s news recognises that. You can read more here. 🔗 gov.uk/government/news/every…

NOTE: While we believe this announcement is a step in the right direction we understand these changes can’t come quickly enough to people living with MND and their families who need support right now. While there will be more detail to come in the Budget tomorrow we will continue to work closely with the Casey Commission and DHSC and press for these reforms to be implemented swiftly to ensure carers are financially supported.
