The first step of the Plaid Cymru childcare rollout is complete ✅🥳 With Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan both on board, I’m thrilled to share that the funded childcare offer will begin to be delivered in Pen-y-bont Bro Morgannwg.

As politicians, we have a duty to seek to improve the public’s understanding of issues such as the funding of public services.   Since the publication of the UK Budget, some have disputed the fact that the Welsh budget faces a real-term cut following the Chancellor’s announcement.   I of course respect others’ right to disagree with our position, but in fulfilling our responsibility to the public, such disagreement should be grounded in the fullest understanding of the issues at hand, given the profound impacts on the funding for Welsh public services in the coming years.   In that spirit, my colleague the Finance Minister Elin Jones has issued a Written Statement to the Senedd today explaining the figures in full.   You can read it here: gov.wales/written-statement-…

From 3 to 19 in just six months ‼️ By the end of November, 19/22 of Wales' councils will offer 12.5 hours of funded childcare for every 2-year-old, with all councils set to deliver by spring. Another step towards our full childcare offer, supporting families and giving every child the best start ✅

I think our faces tell a story about the level of concern we're attaching to the increasingly desperate attacks from Labour MPs during Welsh Questions today 🤨😆
I really don't know how @LSRPlaid and crew can sit through this.

Burnham's government has failed to deliver the meaningful change that Wales was promised. Welsh public services face cuts, rail is still being shortchanged and we’ve had no real action on the cost of living. Dim ond Plaid Cymru sydd â'r uchelgais i wella bywydau pobl Cymru.

📍 Roedd @markjhooper ym Magwyr gyda neges glir. Rydym yn barod i symud ymlaen i adeiladu gorsafoedd trên newydd. Nawr mae angen i Lywodraeth y DU ddarparu'r cyllid a addawyd a chyflawni eu hymrwymiad. 🚉 @MagorandUndyHub @networkrail @CyngorCasnewydd

📍 @markjhooper was in Magor with a clear message. We’re ready to move forward with new train stations. Now we need the UK Government to provide the promised funding and certainty to get it done. 🚉 @MagorandUndyHub @networkrail @NewportCouncil

This is the antithesis of devolution

As a Welsh Labour minister I tried to reform and reorganise local govt to drive power across Wales and had zero support from you and your colleagues.
Replying to @SKinnock
Devolution was never intended to stop at Cardiff Bay - and we risk Wales soon becoming the most centralised nation in the UK. Whilst we recognise it’s for Welsh Government to determine how local govt works in Wales, we’re offering to work in partnership to unlock Wales' potential

The shamelessness of this when they have only just lost power in Wales. To pretend they care about further devolution within Wales (which Plaid was always much keener on anyway). This ploy by UK Labour to block further devo to Wales is so obvious we can all see it.

Some voice for Wales in cabinet you turned out to be. A 0.5% cut in real terms over a three year period and almost 10% off capital spending. Leeds got £300 million for one train station.
This Budget gives people in Wales breathing space. Welsh Secretary @SKinnock explains what it means for Wales. gov.uk/government/news/budge…

🚨 Welsh rail has been short-changed again. UK Labour's £14bn rail promise has translated into a recycled announcement of £30m in this Autumn Budget. That doesn't even cover the cost of Cardiff Parkway Station. Wales voted for a fairer deal from Westminster. On rail, we're still waiting to see it. 🥀

Roedd sgandal HS2 yn ddigon gwael, ond mae Cymru ar ei cholled unwaith eto. Addawodd Llafur £14 biliwn i'n rheilffyrdd, ond yr oll rydym wed'i gael yw ailgyhoeddiad o £30 miliwn. Bydd Plaid Cymru yn parhau i sefyll dros Gymru a mynnu ein bod yn cael yr hyn sy'n ddyledus i ni.

Wales' Deputy Transport Minister Mark Hooper described £30 million in the UK Government's Budget for Welsh rail as "an insult". The UK Government previously committed to deliver £14 billion towards rail. The Welsh Government said it wanted The Chancellor to announce £1 billion of that in his budget.
