馃 Quick thoughts after our 1st auction:
Overall I'm happy nothing major broke!
- We had 600-700 concurrently live in the room
- 2 of 10 cars sold. The rest didn't meet reserve.
- Looking like at least 2 more are going to sell to the next highest bidder after auction through our platform, so 4 out of 10 really.
- Unfortunately managing reserves from sellers is name of the game. I wish we could have got some of the sellers to take a lower reserve going into each auction.
- Sounds like people liked the format, so that's a win!
- For some reason our sound effects weren't playing for a lot of people... investigating that.
- Downloading all comments to digest with the team now.
- Reserves were the #1 complaint. Lots of people praising the format though.
We're thinking through if we should target more "normal" cars with just 1 or 2 exotics sprinkled in.
We'd likely be able to get more agreeable reserves on "normal" cars for our bidders. Exotic owners trade these like alt assets and always want top dollar.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT TUNED IN. We'll adapt, learn, and adjust. Onward! 馃搱

We just announced the cars for our first show on FinalLap!
First auction is Thursday Nov 5 at 1pm ET.
Check out the cars here: finallap.com/auctions/1
This lead to us moving to @telnyx. Internet friends are awesome.
First @MediaKing graciously intro鈥檇 me to his account rep there.
Then founder / ceo @davidcasem jumped in to help expedite. Amazing service. Thanks guys.
馃弫 Today we鈥檙e unveiling how FinalLap works.
We鈥檙e building fast paced online car auctions that feel like a show. We believe watching should be just as fun as bidding.
The first auction is Thursday Nov 5, at 1pm ET.
We鈥檒l announce the cars in the first lineup here soon (Porsche, Ferrari, and regular stuff)
Do I know anyone at Twilio or Klaviyo?
We want to spend a lot of money on sms sends, but we need big sending limits and expedited timelines for ramp up.
Note to self: maybe it was a bad idea agreeing to do HYROX the same month you鈥檙e trying to launch a startup.

We decided to move our weekly auction event to Thursdays at 1PM ET once we launch.
It was going to be Friday鈥檚, but realized too many people bounce early for the weekend.
Also figured out Thursdays are the most active day for other auction sites.
馃弫 Pushed a new site design for FinalLap as we gear up to host our first auctions in November.

I pay an editor $600/mo to cut my reels.
The motion graphics are always the slow part. Now my agent can build the brand look first, then animate it in Tesseract by @trymirage.
Same project, every layer editable. My editor gets a better starting point, and we can reuse that design system across all our videos.
Getting the design right first makes the whole thing better.
These are the same guys behind Captions, which I use to caption all my videos.
Your agent can now create editable designs and bring them into motion. No Figma or Canva required.
Introducing Tesseract for design.
Ask your agent to create a design system with typography, colors, and layouts, then bring it to life with motion, footage, and sound. Keep refining individual layers as you go.
One workflow, from the first design to the final editable video.
Tesseract is free. Try it with Opus 5.5 or GPT-6 Astra.
I'm getting paid to promote my own company.
I've basically self funded FinalLap's development and marketing budget with money from brand videos on my Instagram.
Wild times.
Even better, some brands are now paying me to show how I'm building FinalLap behind the scenes. Their tool is part of the actual build.
This as an ad on Meta is cranking right now for pre-launch signups. Time to go get hit by more cars.
I had a fun day today. I basically spent the day as a sound designer.
I chose a ton of subtle sound effects for FinalLap.com鈥檚 auction interface.
It鈥檚 going to be fun.
