I am very excited to announce the initial schedule for the 1619 Project: A Visual Experience book tour — and especially to announce what is going to be a magnificent launch event at the @BKLYNlibrary where we will exhibit original art works from the book and where you will get to meet some of the artists. “Electric car maker Tesla, Inc., violated federal law by tolerating widespread and ongoing racial harassment of its Black employees and by subjecting some of these workers to retaliation for opposing the harassment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today.”

Phillip: You have benefited from this country—this is what your critics say. But you don't support the system, the economic system that perhaps you benefited from. Is that right?
Mamdani: I love this country. And I'm also a New Yorker who has loved this city. And one of the things that I love most about the city are its parks and its parks. And the parks department was founded by a socialist mayor of New York City, Fiorello La Guardia. These are all parts of the same story. And the idea to simplify it as if a critique of capitalism is to be un-american, it speaks to a lack of understanding of the breadth of our history.
You can’t even get basic facts right, like that I am not a former NYT reporter. I just published a big essay for the magazine I work for last week. I’ve corrected you on this before.
The Times was denounced by its own writers as well as pundits because it reported news that was deemed harmful to the Democrats, specifically Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani. It was a catastrophically triggering event for many on the left... jonathanturley.org/2025/07/0…
Y’all have made me come back to X just to make clear that those sharing this screenshot and pretending it’s about Mamdani are either intentionally engaging in misinformation or are inexcusably gullible. I haven’t worn my hair like this in three years. This tweet is five years old. Easily verifiable. Y’all chose not to.
I am, like so many others, also leaving Twitter. I deactivated my account last week but have decided to reactivate and lock it down so that no one else can post under my handle. However, I will not be using X going forward. I cannot in good conscience justify remaining here any longer. I am on IG @nikolehannahjones and also on Bluesky under this handle, but am not sure how much I will post there. Thank you for following and for all the times when this place was once good.

Gaza is “a post-apocalyptic environment,” with “people just waiting to be killed, either by airstrike, by disease, or even by hunger,” says UNRWA chief Philippe @UNLazzarini.
On the consequences of the Knesset vote to stop UNRWA’s operations, he warns “that means that the backbone of the humanitarian response in Gaza will collapse.”
Watch my full conversation with UNRWA’s commissioner general about the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, Israel’s move to shut down the organization, allegations of links to Hamas, and more.

The Telegraph is a relatively conservative British paper.
But unlike much of US media, they're not afraid to write the truth in a headline.

I think one of the most difficult reckonings of this election is that the incentives we thought inspired voting choices -- a better life for your family and future for your community -- may not be as decisive as the desire to dominate and inflict cruelty on outgroups. Explanations that don't grapple with this point generally read to me like liberal wishcasting.

Trump never submitted a legally required ethics pledge stating that he'll avoid conflicts of interest and other ethical concerns while back in office.
Trump's transition team was required to submit that ethics plan by Oct. 1, according to the Presidential Transition Act.
As of now, Trump has made zero commitment to avoiding conflicts of interest during his presidency. nytimes.com/2024/11/09/us/po…
