The Lest We Forget flag was raised at Province House today, marking a new annual tradition of remembrance.
The Nova Scotia House of Assembly will fly the flag each year during Veterans’ Week following a request from Canadian Armed Forces Veteran Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class (Ret’d) Donald Eenkooren.
Speaker Danielle Barkhouse hosted the Veterans’ Week reception and flag-raising ceremony. Representatives from the Royal Canadian Legion’s Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command and local branches were in attendance for this special occasion.
As the flag is raised at Province House each year to honour our Veterans, it will serve as a reminder of their courage, service, and sacrifice.

Today is Take Our Kids to Work Day!
As part of the day’s activities, government staff and their children had the opportunity to tour and explore historic Province House. The Legislative Library’s Information Services Manager, Catherine, was joined by her son for a day at work.
Take Our Kids to Work Day is a national job shadowing program primarily designed for Grade 9 students as they begin exploring future career options and course selections.
