🏛️ Since 28 July 2026, ESMA's guidelines on knowledge and competence under MiCA have applied to all authorised CASPs. Staff giving information or advice on crypto-assets must meet minimum knowledge standards and complete training every year. Market abuse and market manipulation are on the required list.
The MiCA Crypto Alliance is pleased to be developing the "Maintaining market integrity and identifying market abuse and manipulation" module of its Knowledge and Competence Training Programme in collaboration with Taxbit and with the support of Solidus Labs and Notabene.
Built for banking and CASP professionals, the module will cover:
✔️ The MiCA market abuse regime
✔️ Market manipulation in practice
✔️ AML/CFT for crypto-asset services
✔️ DAC8: tax transparency for crypto-asset services
Staff competence is now a supervisory requirement.
Which of these four areas does your team find hardest to train for?
Thank you to @Taxbit for collaborating with us on the module, and to @Solidus_Labs and @notabene_id for bringing their expertise in market manipulation and AML/CFT.
The module launches in November.

Stablecoins are the least controversial first step an institution can take into digital assets.
@_JackMcDonald_ of @Ripple says the infrastructure is largely built and regulation has turned into a tailwind. What's left is education.

Heading to @mmerge_io Madrid next week? @CatarinaVelos12 will be on the mainstage on October 28 to talk through The New Architecture of Cross-Border Settlement.
Come say hi to the team, and reply here with a comment on what you're hoping to learn or get done at Merge this year, and we'll give two complimentary passes to the best answer at the end of this week 🎟️
Today, most institutions manage two operating systems, one for traditional finance and one for digital assets. This industry wins when you only need one.
💬 "That's when I think we'll have reached a point where we can look around and say, we've really succeeded."

As more companies settle invoices in stablecoins, the list of assets and chains keeps getting longer. Which stablecoin a customer holds shouldn't decide whether they can easily pay you.
"Pay in one stablecoin. Settle in another. No extra conversion step."
To illustrate how @bettermoney_co and Notabene make this possible, @SamBroner and @na_alice walk through a real payment of a Notabene invoice being paid in RLUSD and received in USDC via #NotabeneFlow

Financial institutions don’t do business with counterparties they can’t vet. Stablecoins don’t change that.
“What Notabene does with verification at the transaction layer gives a lot of comfort.”

RLUSD went from about $100M in daily activity at the start of the year to $1.3B in August.
@_JackMcDonald_ of @Ripple on why that number matters more than market cap, and what institutions get using RLUSD inside #NotabeneFlow.
