There's new art to discover at the Brampton Soccer Centre! 🎨⚽
Four new large-scale murals are now on display, each sharing a unique perspective on sport and its connection to the community.
Meet the artists and discover the stories behind the murals:
Spirit of Sports | Jieun Kim & Phillip Saunders
🎨 Toronto-based artists Kim and Saunders combine their distinct styles to capture the energy of competition. Their mural features athletes playing soccer and basketball alongside volleyball and pickleball, with Kim's imaginative dragons and Saunders' expressive sports figures adding a playful twist.
After the Bell | Megan Oldhues
🎨 Toronto-based muralist and former Mayfield Secondary School visual arts student Megan Oldhues revisits childhood memories, celebrating the friendships formed through sports and the lasting memories of camps and recreation programs.
Huddle | Kellen Hatanaka
🎨 GTA-based Japanese Canadian artist Hatanaka explores identity and belonging through sport. His mural captures a familiar moment for athletes: the team huddle, a symbol of teamwork and connection.
Moment of Impact | Paul Glyn-Williams
🎨 For Brampton-raised artist Paul Glyn-Williams, this mural is personal. Growing up in Heart Lake and Springdale, he spent much of his childhood playing sports at school and in local recreation spaces. Today, he creates large-scale murals across Canada and internationally. His latest work is a tribute to his Brampton roots and an opportunity to give back to the city where his artistic journey began.
See all four murals in person during your next visit to the Brampton Soccer Centre!

A big thank you to our City staff who helped make this experience possible by sharing their knowledge, experiences and passion for serving our community.

As a Sikh woman who proudly wears a dastaar (turban), I am deeply saddened and disturbed by this proposal. No child should ever be made to feel that their faith makes them any less deserving of an education.
A dastaar, hijab, kippah, cross or any other religious symbol should never stand in the way of a child’s dreams.
As a mother, it hurts to think of children being made to feel that they must hide a part of themselves to fit in. These policies divide our communities when we should be bringing people together. They hurt children, undermine religious freedom and send a message that some identities are less welcome than others. This is wrong.
Diversity is something to respect, not restrict. Every child deserves to feel accepted and proud of who they are.

When hate targets one community, it impacts us all.
Welcome to Episode 3 of Off the Cuff.
Recent acts of violence and hateful threats against faith-based institutions are a reminder that hate continues to impact our communities, yet many hate-motivated incidents are still unreported.
Through outreach, education, and ongoing engagement, Peel Regional Police's Hate Crime unit works alongside our residents and community partners to build trust, support those affected, and help create safer spaces for everyone.
Confronting hate isn't the responsibility of one person or one organization, it's a responsibility that we all share.
