When you sign up to be one of the twelve openers on show, you are setting yourself up to play in front of a wack crowd. Just seeing the flyer makes the ppl who do come out, less receptive because all the openers.

MPC Sample Beat #44 - A few days ago, I had my guys @illogic614 and @visionaire_4d over the house and got to show them the basic features of the MPC Sample. We all have SP-404's so I was trying to point out the major differences between both machines, which in may ways have the same functions. But in my opinion, the biggest difference between these two machines is their intent. In my opinion, the SP-404 mk2 is a standalone beat performance instrument that is in a class of it's own when it comes to performing your music. You can make beats on it, and many producers make great beats on it, but I never felt like it was optimized for that as much as it being a beat performance instrument. The MPC Sample, in my opinion, is a stripped-down and highly optimized sample-based beat machine. The workflow is super easy that it gets you from idea to execution really quickly, but it isn't really made for beat sets or performing your beats like the 404. You could probably play a live set with it, but it's not for that. This is why I don't think producers with the 404 should try to "replace it" with the MPC Sample--they are for two different things and are excellent when used as they were intended. Many producers will disagree with me and i look forward to hearing your opinion in the comments. As far as beat-making workflow, the MPC Sample is the better machine to me. But as far as beat sets and performances, the 404 is in its own class. Just my two cents. What do y'all think? This was the beat I played for my guys when they stopped by to talk about this.
