200 DAYS. ONE MISSION: PROTECT THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER. Two hundred days ago — on April 7 — the National Fraud Enforcement Division (@DOJFraudDiv) was created. Today, it is the tip of the spear in the fight against fraudsters who steal hundreds of billions of dollars from the American people every year. In the last 200 days, @TheJusticeDept has announced more than 1,200 major fraud enforcement actions across the country, including: 🔹 The Minnesota Fraud Takedown — 15 defendants charged in connection with more than $90 million in alleged fraud (@DMNnews / @FBI / @HSI_HQ / @SecKennedy / @DrOzCMS / @OIGatHHS) 🔹 The June Massachusetts Benefit Fraud Operation — 15 defendants, including 11 illegal aliens, charged in connection with alleged benefit fraud schemes (@DMAnews1) 🔹 The National Health Care Fraud Takedown — 455 defendants charged in connection with more than $6.5 billion in alleged fraud (@OIGatHHS / @DEAHQ) 🔹 The Los Angeles Homeless Services Fraud Cases — multiple defendants charged in connection with allegedly defrauding funds meant to serve the homeless (@SecretaryTurner / @HUDOIG) 🔹 The Heartland Fraud Surge — approximately $245 million in alleged pandemic loan fraud uncovered in an 80-day surge, with @FBIDirectorKash, @SBA_Kelly, @SBAOIG, @USLaborIG, and other partners 🔹 The Ghost Daycare Takedown — 10 defendants charged in connection with allegedly operating ghost daycares in San Diego, California (@SDCAnews / @HSI_HQ) 🔹 The Social Security Fraud Surge — 17 defendants charged in 28 days in connection with the alleged theft of Social Security benefits (@TheSSAOIG) 🔹 The National Tax Enforcement Surge — more than $490 million in alleged tax fraud exposed in the Department's first-ever national tax fraud surge, with @IRS_CI, @USTreasury, and 35 U.S. Attorneys' Offices (@USAttorneys) 🔹 The SNAP Benefits Enforcement Surge — nearly $42 million in alleged SNAP fraud uncovered in a 50-day surge with @USDA and @OIGUSDA (enough to feed 220,000 Americans for the entire month of October) 🔹 The California Health Care Fraud Takedown — 15 defendants in Los Angeles charged in connection with alleged health care fraud schemes totaling nearly $2 billion (@USAttyEssayli) These are only a fraction of the cases announced in the last 200 days. Every single day, in districts across the country, @TheJusticeDept prosecutors and our partner agencies are attacking the schemes that drain the programs needy Americans depend on. None of this happens by accident. Thank you to @POTUS, whose directive to declare war on fraud created this Division and set its mandate; to @VP Vance, whose leadership and resolve are stopping the scamming of the American people; to @AGToddBlanche, who signed the memorandum that brought the Fraud Division into existence and who leads our pursuit of justice every single day; to the @WHFraudTF, which has brought together a whole-of-government response to the fraud epidemic gripping our country; and to the public servants across our partner agencies— too many to count — who are in the trenches with us every day to bring fraudsters to justice. To those defrauding the American taxpayer: there is no case too big, no case too small, and no place to hide. Stop your lies. Stop your deceit.
