Family, friends and colleagues gathered at the Bomb Squad to mark the occasion, with SBA Vice President Edmund Small joining them to congratulate Brian. With 31 years as a Sergeant and 26 years in the Bomb Squad, Brian has much to be proud of as he begins retirement. Congratulations, Brian! Enjoy this well-deserved next chapter.

On October 29, 2015, Sergeant Louis R. Pioli of the 61 Precinct died from a World Trade Center-related illness. His NYPD career spanned 33 years, with 12 of those years spent in the rank of Sergeant. Eleven years later, we remember Sergeant Pioli and his decades of service to the Department. #NeverForget #FidelisAdMortem

SBA President Vincent Vallelong joined @ArthurAidala on @am970TheAnswer to discuss why NYC crime is at record lows despite a lack of support from elected officials, and how a weakened rule of law makes officers’ jobs harder and less safe.
