High tides could flood low-lying areas along the San Francisco shoreline from Wednesday morning through Monday, Nov. 9. Flooding is most likely around the morning high tides, roughly 8 to 10:30 a.m. 🌊 Avoid flooded roads and sidewalks, and never drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Plan extra travel time near the waterfront. 🚧 Latest forecasts: weather.gov/mtr. Prepare for El Niño impacts including flooding at sf.gov/storms

Ready to celebrate the Valkyries? The parade runs from the Ferry Building to Second and King streets, from noon to 2 p.m. tomorrow, 11/4. The easiest way there is transit, including @SFMTA_Muni, @SFBART, and @SFBayFerry. Look out for the people around you by knowing your nearest cross streets in case you need to call 911 for a medical emergency, fire, or crime in progress. Call 311 for non-emergency City information and services. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water and keep your belongings close. UPDATE 2-ALARM FIRE 10 ARGENT ALLEY During overhaul operations at this fire, San Francisco firefighters located a missing family cat and carried it out of the smoke-filled building. Our crews work to give everyone affected by a fire, pets included, the best chance at rescue and recovery, both during the fire and after it. We're told the cat is expected to be OK, thanks in part to our firefighters' efforts. Preliminary affected units are three (3) units damaged with 3-4 people displaced - services are being provided for those displaced and numbers are subjected to change.
UPDATE: The fire at 10 Argent Alley is now under control. The building is a four-story multi-residential complex, located in the 3800 block of Market Street. No civilian or firefighter injuries and no rescues were reported. One dog succumbed to injuries associated with the fire. The cause is under investigation. Fire was on the third and fourth floors, so some residents will be displaced. We are working with building management to determine how many. Please avoid the 3800 block of Market Street, which is closed in both directions.

Wednesday’s Valkyries parade runs from the Ferry Building to Second and King streets, from noon to 2 p.m. The easiest way there is transit. BART and Muni Metro riders can exit at Embarcadero or Montgomery stations and walk to the route. BART is adding extra trains, and Muni ambassadors will be at affected stops to help. Streets around The Embarcadero close early in the day, and some Muni lines will be rerouted. Fans can start lining up at 9 a.m. on the bay side of The Embarcadero, between Mission and Second streets. Check sfmta.com/valkyries and bart.gov/valkyries before you go. For parade alerts, text GSV26 to 888-777. Photo: Amanda Andrade-Rhoades / The Standard.

The Valkyries won it all with a game plan. Make one for Wednesday’s parade. Big crowds can make it hard to find each other. Pick a place to meet if you get separated, charge your phone and make sure everyone in your group knows the plan. Bringing kids? Take a photo of them before you leave and put your phone number in their pocket. The same habits help you prepare for any emergency. Make your plan at sf.gov/emergencyplan.
