Glamsterdam's just around the corner, here's what you need to know about Ethereum's next big upgrade!

Larger blocks create more permanent state for every node to store.
Glamsterdam reprices state creation to account for that cost as capacity grows.
Alongside ePBS and BALs, this supports a credible post-fork 200M gas-limit floor.
Glamsterdam is still moving through specs, clients and devnets.
Validator operators get new slot timing and a new duty when a validator is selected for the Payload Timeliness Committee.
The Ethereum Foundation has scheduled Glamsterdam for the Hoodi testnet on October 26, 2026, at 17:42:48 UTC. Hoodi is the second public testnet to run the fork after Sepolia.
A clean run on both will clear the way for developers to pick a mainnet date.
