Most people in Latin America have never owned a share of a commercial building, a crop receivable or a private credit fund.
Lack of interest was never the reason. Minimum tickets were high, paperwork was heavy, and access usually depended on having the right bank manager.
Tokenization changes that math. When a real-world asset is split into digital units recorded on a blockchain, three things happen:
1- The minimum ticket drops, so someone can start with a few dollars instead of a few hundred thousand.
2- Ownership and transactions are recorded in a ledger that is hard to tamper with and easy to audit.
3- Fewer intermediaries sit between the investor and the asset, which can mean faster settlement and lower costs.

Intel was since some weeks ago at a 2.8 grade, meaning that was not making the cut of the portfolio composer. QQQ would barely make the cut with a 6.2 grade, most likely would be out of most portfolios as the model is designed to maximize grades while maintaining expected returns as high as possible while minimizing risk. Yesterday, DTCC, the institution that clears and settles the US stock market, launched its tokenization service.
Five days earlier, the SEC added tokenization to its 2027 examination priorities. Last month, it opened a path for tokenized stocks to trade on new venues.
Put those together and the message is clear: tokenization is no longer an experiment in the US. It’s becoming market infrastructure, with supervision to match.
That’s good news. Rails that regulators examine are rails investors can trust.
But notice who gets the new rails first: large institutions, large-cap stocks, Treasuries.
The infrastructure is being built. The open question is whether it will reach the investors throughout the world, or stay inside Wall Street.
