Had heard rumblings Coby was coming back first, even though he was hurt later than Knueppel. I think K2 won’t be too far behind him but regardless, having starting PG back is big for Charlotte.
.@hornets guard Coby White is not listed on the injury report and will make his season debut vs. DET on 11/2.

Here’s Clemson coach Dabo Swinney’s full quote ripping the people who flew a “Fire Mike Novell” sign over FSU’s football stadium pregame. He brought this up unprompted, calling it “embarrassing” and “shameful.” Dabo: “And they didn’t even spell his name right”
My Halloween report from Charlotte, where the Hornets looked like they were in for a treat with a 101-94 lead with under 4 minutes left, only to collapse as the Philadelphia 76ers (playing without LeBron and Embiid) won again. How did it happen?

Wake is a beast
Wake scored on each of its four first-half possessions, leads 20-0 and will receive third-quarter kickoff. #UVA
Nice gesture by the Hornets before the game, to have a moment of silence in honor of longtime guest services standout “Mr. B”
7 straight games - so far - this trip has missed to open the season.

#Panthers coach Dave Canales explained why he made the decision to fire defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero today.

Did the Panthers fire EJ Evero too early, or too late? My initial thoughts on today's move, which comes in the wake of Carolina losing twice in a 5-day span, for @theobserver: charlotteobserver.com/sports…
Wow
Breaking: The #Panthers have parted ways with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive pass game coordinator Jonathan Cooley, the team announced.
Defensive line coach Todd Wash has been named the interim DC; he’ll call the plays on defense.
This story is a great inside look at what the Panthers locker room felt like in wake of Green Bay loss.
Chuba Hubbard was "pissed." Bryce Young shut down questions about his knee. Why does this loss seems to especially hurt? Jalen Coker shrugged, "We just want to win."
A trip around a not-exactly indignant, but "mad," #Panthers locker room, in @theobserver: charlotteobserver.com/sports…
What's wrong with the Panthers?
I wrote about it after their "Thursday Night Football" loss to Green Bay, in which Bryce Young got sacked six times and the offense failed to take advantage of 3 Packers turnovers.

Yikes
Panthers had 87 yards on 33 plays in 1st half. Last team to run that many plays for that few yards in 1st half with their starting QB was Giants in 2023 opener with Daniel Jones vs Cowboys (81 yards on 36 plays)
(3 teams did it with backup QBs since then: KC's Chris Oladokun, Minnesota's Max Brosmer, Giants' Tyrod Taylor)
Why did yall run that stop sign? 😀
