my perspective on the current state of crypto
to understand what's happening in crypto right now, i think we need to look at four interconnected problems 👇
- TRUST & SECURITY
this is the biggest issue for me
over the years, we've seen countless scams, hacks, insider games, broken promises & projects that delivered absolutely nothing.
for example, some projects managed to reach billion-dollar valuations without delivering anything meaningful, simply by selling narratives and misleading investors.
people have lost a lot of money, but more importantly, many have lost faith in the industry itself.
think about it
you keep your funds on a CEX, you are trusting a third party.
you use a DEX, you are exposed to smart contract risks.
you move everything to cold storage, you are responsible for protecting your own keys.
as we've seen with incidents involving hardware wallets like Coldcard, even the devices themselves can have vulnerabilities.
there is no perfect solution. only different risks and different responsibilities.
- Liquidity
we need to remember that money entering crypto doesn't necessarily mean it's flowing into the broader market (especially altcoins & smaller projects).
capital is becoming more selective & thousands of tokens are competing for the same liquidity.
new tokens keep launching. existing tokens continue unlocking.
more supply, more selling pressure, but limited demand.
on top of that, much of the new capital can remain concentrated in $Bitcoin and a handful of major assets.
that's why even promising projects struggle. a good product & a strong team don't automatically create demand for the token.
in short, sustainable growth requires more than speculative demand. it requires genuine utility, lasting value creation, a healthier balance between supply and demand.
// not just speculation.
- TOO MANY WORTHLESS PROJECTS
we've made it incredibly easy to launch tokens
a lot of projects launch tokens before they've built anything meaningful. no working product, no MVP, no proven value.
just token launches, inflated valuations, & endless marketing.
guys, i don't think crypto needs more tokens. it needs more businesses, useful products, teams committed to building for the long term.
+ we also need to stop assuming that every crypto cycle will end with another massive altseason.
the industry can continue growing while thousands of tokens never recover.
adoption doesn't automatically translate into token value, and i think that's something we need to understand better.
- Macroeconomic Conditions
we also need to recognize that crypto doesn't exist in isolation. interest rates, global liquidity, economic uncertainty, and institutional risk appetite all influence where capital flows.
on top of that, geopolitical tensions, including the Iran-Israel conflict and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, have added another layer of uncertainty to global markets.
these conflicts can affect energy prices, inflation expectations, and investor confidence, making investors more cautious and less willing to take risks.
when investors become defensive, speculative assets are often among the first to suffer.
when trust disappears, capital becomes more cautious. when demand weakens, weaker projects struggle, and when those projects fail, even more trust is lost.
it's a cycle the industry needs to break.
SO WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
i don't believe crypto is finished, and i don't think every downturn means the industry has failed. but i do believe the industry needs to mature.
we need fewer empty promises, more accountability, better security, sustainable business models, projects that create value beyond speculation.
im optimistic about the long-term future of crypto,
(that doesn't mean im blindly bullish on everything)
some projects will recover & many probably won't
maybe that's part of the industry's evolution idk
maybe the real progress crypto needs isn't another massive bull run, but a market that finally learns to distinguish genuine value from hype, empty promises & endless speculation.
A market that rewards real innovation, sustainable businesses, and those who actually deliver.
one more thing worth mentioning is quantum computing.
personally, i don't see quantum computing as a major near-term threat to crypto. the risks are worth taking seriously, but i believe the industry still has an opportunity to prepare & adapt.
it's something we should keep an eye on, but not something im particularly worried about right now.
im not saying we've reached the bottom, but maybe the fact that so many of us have lost hope is a signal in itself.
as they say, the darkest hour is just before the dawn.
time will tell.
these are my personal views.
hope this was useful to everyone who took the time to read it.

For Ruyui holders who haven’t registered for migration yet:
Claims start tomorrow and holders who have registered prior will be able to claim directly.
After claims start, we will update the contract with new submissions weekly, therefore to claim, you will need to wait for the new merkle root update.
So if you want to claim right away, but haven’t done the registration yet, please do so 🫶🏻
just wanted to show some love and respect to the @BaykarTech team and its founders
their story is one of the most inspiring i've come across!
the fact that an IPO has never been part of their plans is something i genuinely admire. not everyone builds with the goal of cashing out. some build because they believe in something much bigger.
the world needs more people like you @Selcuk @haluk
AI demand is global. The rules that govern data are local.
Sovereign AI depends on where infrastructure sits, who can access data and which laws apply.
IREN brings together data centers, compute and software to help customers address these requirements. As we develop new capacity in Spain and Australia, we’re building sovereign AI readiness into the infrastructure from the start.

There's a lot here that someone outside of crypto can enjoy without ever knowing what CT thinks about it.
Yet we keep turning every update into a comparison with another brand, arguing about who copied whose playbook.
I look at this and see a brand that keeps giving people reasons to care about the penguin.
With @IglooInc putting its full focus into Pudgy Penguins, the NFTs and $PENGU, I'm excited to see how much further they can take this.
This is one of the leading IPs we've got in crypto, and I'd love to see more of the space get behind it.
Still very bullish on what's ahead for Pudgy.
it's been years since i last played a game
despite investing in several gaming projects over the years, i never actually played their games. maybe im just not wired for it, but gaming has always felt like a waste of time to me
on the other hand. just had a nice call with @Tiger_aspect06, who's building @Tinylegends_io
his game caught my attention & liked what i saw. might actually give this one a try
