"Better" is doing a lot of work when someone says LLMs write better code than humans. This post breaks it into four different things you could be measuring. 🧵
{ author: @dannwaneri }
It starts with lines per minute, which only measures typing, then moves to correctness, then maintainability. The last one is the hardest: knowing when not to build it at all.
The argument is that "better" is a hierarchy that shifts as you gain experience, not one number. Full post: dev.to/dannwaneri/no-human-w…

@PaulSuvran27548 ran a fresh-clone checker on the repos of the top 100 npm packages, found 9 of its 10 build-failing findings were false, and fixed the tool until every remaining one was real. It's their first DEV post.

@nasersadrmanesh walks through four open-source tools for AI in online stores, including a WooCommerce MCP server where every write is previewed first and applied only on confirmation. It's their first DEV post.

A human approved the order, and the agent answered "Tool order_part not found". A Dart agent, an MCP tool and one missing lookup on restart. 🧵
{ author: @esratech + @GoogleDevExpert }
The fix resolves the tools on restart and passes the map along. It became a first PR to Genkit Dart, with a regression test that needs no API key.
The lesson: test the resume path, not only the happy path. Full post: dev.to/gde/i-approved-the-or…
Should business logic import a database driver? An order checkout shows what flips when the service defines its own interfaces instead. 🧵
{ author: @chrisvasqm }
After: the service defines OrderRepository and PaymentGateway and takes them through the constructor. main.ts is the only file that knows the real classes, and the test needs no Postgres, no Stripe and no mocking library.
A free-trial checkout becomes a NoChargeGateway, with zero ifs inside the service. Full post: dev.to/chrisvasqm/how-i-fina…

@shashank_kopp shows how versioned builds in S3 behind a CDN turn a frontend rollback into a one-minute switch, with no rebuild and no pod restart. It's their first DEV post.

This is so cool!
My sister is a doctor. Writing the prescription is the easy part.
The hard part happens at home. Right pill, right time, every day.
So I built Anatono. Snap the prescription and it sets the reminders. Free, runs on @googlegemma Gemma 4.
