There are 62 days left in 2026 after today. (I spent a chapter of When on what endings do to us, and four of the findings in it are worth knowing before December 31) 🧵

I chose to wear ALL BLACK today because it's finally cold enough in Seville, and it turns out it's #wearitpink day. Doh.

I had a pull request accepted on Aeron! It was a Gradle change, but I guess that's on-brand for me anyway

The continuous change in the tech industry can be overwhelming, but it's crucial to focus on learning areas that are enjoyable or beneficial without stressing over the inability to learn everything. @trisha_gee

This is a great post! It frames the tension of working with AI inside a software system very well. Highly recommended reading.
One of the topics I'm working on right now is determinism. Seems like determinism went out of fashion with distributed systems and async patterns, and it became even less attainable with AI. But what if we could get determinism back into our applications? redoubleai.substack.com/p/ai…

Stop asking the sci-fi question: 'Is it conscious?' Start asking the engineering question: 'Is this a powerful, unpredictable component being put somewhere consequential, and where's the feedback that tells us that it's safe?'
