Fuck @Etsy and fuck the entire modern internet. Holy fuck. On a KYCed account, with my name, my addess, and years of purchase history, I CANNOT ADD A NEW FUCKING DEBIT CARD IN MY OWN GOD DAMN NAME TO THE ACCOUNT WHILE USING A VPN.
Because "security." You are fucking parasitic leaches, and pieces of shit, to the core. There is no fucking security reason whatsofuckingever. It is simply another bullshit excuses to suck up more of my private information, to target me in even more detail, and sell that information like a bunch of parasitic leaches and shitbags so advertisers can surround me even more thoroughly with manipulative advertisements.
Get fucked you pieces of shit. I am never using your fucking platform again.
We will never beat the allegations.
Mostly because people will inevitable assess Urbit on a binary of "insanely wrong" vs "insanely right"
Good listen of the @hellmoneypod though.
Curtis Yarvin Wants to Make the Internet Uncensorable
@curtis_yarvin has one mission: make Casey @Rodarmor try Urbit again.
Curtis joins Casey and Erin Redwing @realizingerin for a live demo of the new Urbit experience. We also get into Curtis's nearly 25-year quest to reinvent computing, what went wrong with the original Urbit, and his new vision for a "self-driving computer" where AI agents write and maintain their own applications.
Maybe the world just needed to get weird enough for Urbit to work.

If the agent belongs to the platform (Muse, Dots, Duo, etc) it’s the most complete surveillance tool ever built: one entity sees every purchase, message and relationship across your entire life.
If the agent belongs to you, it’s the most effective privacy tool ever built: one point that enforces a firewall and data minimization across everything.
Own your agent.
More ways to run your urbit, across macOS, Linux, and Windows.
If not wanting to touch the terminal has been your blocker, thank @321bobbyv and check it out:
Introducing Orraah: a desktop app to run and manage your own Urbit ship on Linux, Windows, or Mac. No terminal needed. Your own server, your own data.
Built by Raah Connect on top of Urbit.

It's a dangerous world out there.
Keep yourself safe on @tloncorporation's messenger so that your kids don't end up inviting their friends to a "Microsoft Teams team." Or a Slack channel, ick.

If you're in my Lodge, please remember it's Charnal House Rules
W E L C O M E T O L O D G E
I’m delighted to announce Urban Tiger’s first product, Lodge, now generally available. To host a lodge, just go to urbit.house. To be a guest, wait till someone invites you!
Lodge is “half Eyes Wide Shut, half Chatham House Rules.” It’s a private chat/forum with strong anonymity. Everyone gets a random name from the blockchain. No one, not even you, has any record of who is who. Your forum runs on your private, encrypted cloud server (*).
Lodge is for all human beings who cannot speak their true minds if there is any risk that they might be “held accountable.” We do everything possible to prevent doxing. You can even cover your financial tracks with ZCash. (But you don’t need to know anything about crypto.)
Who needs a lodge? Your office needs a lodge. Your campus or department. Your agency. Start a lodge, and find a way to get the invite link or QR code to your founding members.
Secret societies are a human universal. It doesn’t get more secret than Lodge.
To use Lodge, you and your guests install the House web app (app stores don’t like meta-apps). You’ll save your secret with a passkey and back it up with a 6-word poem. Your name is also a wallet, which holds its own token. (But you don’t need to know anything about crypto.)
Lodge is the first app on Urban Tiger’s new version of Urbit. Unlike the old Urbit experience (Tlon Messenger), urbit.house is both fully noncustodial, and fully general-purpose. Also, your guests don’t need their own servers. (But if they want to start their own lodges, it only takes a few clicks.)
The Lodge UX is “half forum, half chat.” Like a forum, it has a timeline tree. Like a chat, it flows through your unreads. The design was inspired by the original social network, Usenet. On a desktop you even “doomspace,” like it was 1986.
You’ll be billed for your server in crypto—by usage, not time (since it’s a functional server). It’s cheap. And you can charge dues.
Check it out: urbit.house
(*—the servers aren’t encrypted quite yet. Give us a couple more weeks to spin up the TEEs. Then we’ll destroy the old cleartext.)
urbit.house from @urbit_house
so easy that you could onboard your neighborhood with a smattering of QR codes posted up on lamp posts in the middle of the night.
A good Halloween trick (or treat) for your local HOA.
Replying to @mmjukic
urbit house onboarding looks easier and provides a passkey with a new id so it won't be a full time job as it looks like currently
