Because the party is in the process of being subsumed by real American nationalists. You don’t see it yet but it is happening. The Republican Party is the main institutional lever of the right wing. In the primaries, you push out the traitors. Then in the general election you get behind the party member so as to defeat the main opposition. If the candidate sucks get them out next cycle, as has been happening, otherwise we wouldn’t have Bo French running for a statewide office in the Republican Party. The cycle continues. Defeat the left, cast out the traitors.
