When talking about the impact of agents on Brands, commerce, disintermediation, the purchase funnel etc We should be mindful that there are many things that logically the internet should have changed but did not. In theory - physical shops would have vanished en mass. - Everything would come down to price. - Real estate agents or travel agents would be disintermediated. - We'd buy things based on reviews not brands - We'd pick better things and be more involved and happily pay more What underpins all marketing is human behavior. And human behavior is a bit weird. We're not as bothered by efficiency as we assume we are. We don't even make remotely logical decisions. We're not especially predictable either.

I run an out of home software company, so I wondered how often founders on David Senra's shows talk about it. We transcribed all of Founders and David Senra (250 hours, 3.1M words). Not often: 32 mentions in 223 episodes. But when someone takes a side, it's positive 14 of 17 times.

We transcribed 3.1M words of @davidsenra to see how founders actually talk about out of home. Start with Revolut and the airports, stay for Ted Turner's unsold billboards.

Factory VP @sonofalli says AI has marketing teams shipping code every day, but still can't write a funny tweet: "We see a lot of slop copy on the timeline, and it’s one of my pet peeves. With all of my agents, I’ve trained them to not use LLM speech." "I tested this with my tweets. Can AI be funny? Can it make a banger meme? And it’s really cringe. It’s really bad. So I think that kind of creativity will remain innately human." "By the time I left Vercel, my whole marketing team was shipping PRs on a daily basis. It’s the same at Factory. Our head of finance just posted about how he uses it for the finance org, and he's one of the top users at the company." @FactoryAI
Secret's out! I've joined @FactoryAI as VP of Marketing to lead our new media and startup initiatives. Could not be more excited to work with this iconic team. BIG software factory girl. Look out for lots more soon, we are COOKING. ps: I'm hiring :) LFG

OOH supremacy. Now more than ever as going outside and IRL and analog and all of those things matter more than ever.
All I'm saying is no one is tweeting about CTV ads....or paid social.....or print ads...or Meta It's always OOH. OOH wins.

AI generated content is quickly going to be understood to be an industrialized commodity rather than the fun new toy. Craft and human production is going to have more and more value. Made by hand is modern luxury (and always was).
Introducing “Drawing Prada”, the Prada Holiday 2026 campaign. A Prada fantasy created by hand, an experiment in craft. Elf on the Shelf (@elfontheshelf) began when twin sisters Christa Pitts and Chanda Bell, along with their mother, decided to turn their family's Christmas elf tradition into a book in 2004. The mother-daughter team couldn't find anyone willing to publish their story, so they decided to do it themselves: "You have a good idea, and that's all it will ever be. Or you're going to have to step out in faith and do something with it." When getting started at local Christmas markets, their first hurdle was parents not understanding what they were selling. They needed to explain what the toy actually was, which is a flying elf that ends up in a different spot in the house every morning from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve. To get parents and their young children to stop and listen, they started giving away blinking bracelets at their market booth, which was a successful early marketing tactic. After getting the word out, their second hurdle came when they went to ask the banks for money. Like the book, they were rejected again. And once again, they took matters into their own hands, pooling their money. Then they had two big breaks in pop culture: 1. A paparazzi photo of Jennifer Garner holding one of their elves 2. A TODAY Show appearance These both really boosted awareness and eventually led to a CBS animated special, a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon, and their own Netflix show.

The B2B version is cutting brand and upper-funnel spend because it doesn't show up in last-click, then watching branded search and win rates slowly erode. The hard part is that the damage shows up two quarters later.
This is @rorysutherland's “doorman problem”: a hotel fires the doorman to save $, oblivious to all the things he does beyond opening doors. They celebrate short term savings while the value he created making guests feel welcome, valued, and importantly eager to return is ignored
