📢 Excited to share our new paper in @JThrombHaemost! We found early IVIG (≤3 days) in HIT was linked to faster platelet recovery vs standard of care: median 3 vs 5 days (HR 2.15). No difference in thrombosis, bleeding, or death. 🔗sciencedirect.com/science/ar… #HIT #Hematology
No STEMIs here, just STEM-ing it up with the best in cardiology 🫀.

📌 “Association of a standardized community health worker enrollment with cancer outcomes and clinical trial enrollment: A secondary case-control analysis”
Presented at #ASCOQLTY26 @ASCO
We found that prior enrollment in a standardized community health worker program (IMPaCT) was associated with 61% higher odds of early-stage cancer diagnosis (aOR 1.61, 95% CI 1.09–2.38).
🔹 220 cases vs 440 matched controls with no prior CHW enrollment
🔹 Median CHW enrollment duration: 6 months
🔹 Cases diagnosed a median of 2 years after CHW enrollment
🔹 No significant difference in no-show rates
🔹 Trial enrollment 6.4% vs 4.3%, not significant
Upstream CHW programs may confer sustained downstream benefits for early cancer detection.
Thank you to Dr. Yehoda Martei @ymartei for the opportunity to work on such impactful research and to help move the needle on cancer health equity. Grateful to Dr. Shreya Kangovi, Dr. Carmen Guerra and all co-authors @PennMedicine @AbramsonCancer @PC3Innovation
Thank you to all who stopped by and engaged in rigorous discourse on the role of community health workers in cancer care; and for the feedback!

📍As I start year 3 of IM residency, I am excited to share my reflection "Above the Hum" in @acgme's @JournalofGME.
📍It begins with a patient, a conversation about rock climbing, and a teacher who exemplified compassion & clinical excellence.
