At last week’s Qubits Asia event, I shared exciting scientific research in analog-digital quantum computing. Our controls combine single-qubit gate operations with the natural quantum dynamics of D-Wave’s annealing processors. In a recent preprint, our team used these capabilities and 728 qubits to simulate topological insulators in one, two and three dimensions. We believe these are the first programmable quantum dynamics experiments in 3D. This work could help researchers understand new material properties and explore more robust ways to store and transmit quantum information. $QBTS #quantumcomputing
Quantum computing could help AI extract useful insights when training data is limited. New research from @FloridaAtlantic explores that opportunity in lung cancer prediction. Using symptom and risk-factor data, researchers achieved 91.9% classification accuracy with a quantum machine learning approach running on D-Wave’s annealing quantum computer. While preliminary and based on a small, augmented dataset, the findings point to a promising direction for quantum-powered AI in healthcare. I look forward to seeing FAU’s team advance this work. $QBTS #quantumcomputing #AIart

My time in South Korea this week has reinforced my view that Asia will play a defining role in quantum computing adoption. Qubits Asia brought together people applying quantum to challenges across manufacturing, telecommunications, logistics and AI. What stood out was the breadth of the work, from improving day-to-day operations to exploring new scientific questions. That combination of commercial adoption and research ambition gives the region a strong foundation for quantum leadership. $QBTS #quantumcomputing
Congratulations to D-Wave customer @SHIONOGI_JP on winning first place in the Quality of Life category of Japan’s NEDO quantum computing challenge for its work in drug discovery. In research published in Scientific Reports, 97% of the molecular representations generated by a model using D-Wave’s annealing quantum computer were chemically valid, compared with 73% for its classical counterpart. Improving the quality of candidates early in discovery could help researchers focus costly laboratory work on more promising molecules. $QBTS #quantumcomputing
Moving quantum-powered applications into production requires both powerful technology and a deep understanding of enterprise operations. Today at Qubits Asia in Seoul, we announced an MOU with LG CNS to bring those capabilities together. LG CNS understands the optimization challenges businesses face and the systems their solutions must work within. By combining that expertise with D-Wave’s commercial-grade annealing quantum computing technology, we intend to help businesses in South Korea and beyond start seeing value from quantum today. $QBTS #quantumcomputing
D-Wave’s latest research brings programmable quantum simulation into three dimensions, an important capability for studying real materials. In a recent preprint, our researchers and collaborators used up to 728 qubits on an Advantage2 annealing quantum computer to realize topological insulators in one, two and three dimensions. To our knowledge, these are the first programmable quantum dynamics experiments of this kind in three dimensions. By combining analog-digital controls with hundreds of qubits, our team is developing powerful new tools for investigating quantum materials. $QBTS #quantumcomputing
.@Amazon’s recent announcement of more than 300,000 U.S. holiday jobs highlights the extraordinary coordination behind peak-season commerce. Every shift, shipment and delivery involves decisions about capacity, timing and resources. Those decisions become harder as demand changes and constraints multiply. This is where quantum-powered optimization can help: evaluating complex combinations to find better ways to schedule people, route vehicles and allocate resources. For logistics leaders preparing for their busiest weeks, the quality and speed of those decisions deserve as much attention as the workforce they add. $QBTS #quantumcomputing
The growing investment in quantum hubs reflects a clear recognition that quantum computing matters to economic competitiveness. As @barronsonline reports, New York City is joining regions around the world in building the infrastructure to participate. The strongest hubs will connect research, manufacturing, talent and customers, giving each a reason to work with the others. Businesses need access to technology they can evaluate. Researchers need systems they can use. Students need hands-on experience. Those connections turn investment into capability and give a region the foundation to develop applications, create intellectual property and build lasting economic value. $QBTS #quantumcomputing
Today’s quantum computers can help researchers build advanced systems for the future. A new peer-reviewed study from the University of Kentucky used D-Wave’s annealing quantum computer and a hybrid quantum-classical approach to evaluate how well error-correcting codes protect quantum information. This is a compelling research direction, using annealing quantum computing to investigate challenges central to fault-tolerant gate-model systems. Progress in one approach can help advance another. $QBTS #quantumcomputing

NTT DOCOMO is using D-Wave’s technology to get more out of its mobile network. Its second production application simultaneously optimizes two competing demands: location-registration and paging signals. Across a 333-base-station segment, the application reduced peak registration signals by 65% and peak paging signals by 7%, freeing network capacity to support more connected devices with existing infrastructure. This is how quantum adoption grows: demonstrated results give customers the confidence to tackle their next operational challenge. $QBTS #quantumcomputing

Italy has the scientific talent, industrial strength and ambition to become a global leader in quantum computing. Last week in Como, we marked a major step toward that goal: the arrival of Italy’s first D-Wave Advantage2 annealing quantum computer for installation at Villa Saporiti. It is fitting to place our system in Como, the birthplace of Alessandro Volta. His legacy is a powerful reminder of what scientific discovery can make possible. I look forward to seeing how Italian researchers and businesses help shape the quantum era. $QBTS #quantumcomputing
Today D-Wave announced a multi-year agreement extending our collaboration with @SkyWaterFoundry. For more than a decade, its Minnesota fab team has helped fabricate generations of our superconducting processors. That specialized process expertise will continue to support our annealing and gate-model roadmaps. We’re also putting quantum to work at the fab. In a separate proof-of-technology project, D-Wave’s annealing quantum computing technology optimized maintenance scheduling and reduced lot delays by up to 30%. It’s a strong example of building quantum systems and applying them to a real manufacturing challenge. $QBTS #quantumcomputing

The National Compute Grid’s proposal to connect underused AI computing capacity raises an important question: how do we get more value from the infrastructure already in place? Allocating workloads across providers and chip types is a complex optimization problem. As computing environments evolve to include CPUs, GPUs and QPUs, the ability to direct each workload to the right resource will become increasingly important. #AI #quantumcomputing $QBTS
Manufacturers are investing heavily to modernize their factories. They should be equally demanding of the decisions that run them. Our new @ManufacturingDive article shows why. Ford Otosan is now using a D-Wave application in production to sequence its highly configurable Ford Transit line. In a completed proof of concept with @BASF, D-Wave cut projected scheduling time from 10 hours to seconds and lateness by 14%. When better schedules can be produced this much faster, “good enough” becomes a competitive disadvantage. $QBTS #Manufacturing #quantumcomputing

Building applications for fault-tolerant gate-model quantum systems should begin well before the hardware is available. In @thecubetv, @kytsune examines how D-Wave’s gate-model simulator beta enables that work. Built around our dual-rail technology, it allows organizations to test error-aware programs under realistic hardware constraints and prepare applications for forthcoming D-Wave gate-model systems. Error awareness brings the realities of future hardware into today’s development process. $QBTS #quantumcomputing

.@Google’s Project Suncatcher proposes moving AI compute into orbit to address growing energy demands. But the answer isn’t only where compute runs. It’s how efficiently it runs. Quantum can complement AI by taking on optimization and emerging machine-learning workloads that classical systems may handle inefficiently. The potential is significant. In a materials simulation, D-Wave’s Advantage2 system solved in minutes a problem that would have taken the Frontier classical supercomputer nearly one million years and consumed more electricity than the world uses in a year. The future of AI infrastructure is hybrid: CPUs, GPUs and QPUs working together. #quantumcomputing #AI $QBTS #ProjectSuncatcher
