Thinking of the genius Sir Doug Sahm on his birthday today. “There simply is no way to describe the music that came out of the man, except to say without a doubt — for my money — he is the single most talented Texas musician who ever lived." -Bill Bentley, Austin Chronicle

The 45 is limited to 500 copies and all proceeds benefit the Clifton Chenier Memorial Scholarship Fund. A labor of love for our old friend CC, he's the only person we know who could get all these amazing folks together on one song.

Please join us in sending birthday love to the great Benny Turner! His rendition of “Reconsider Baby” during the Antone’s ACL TV episode was a showstopper. A sweet soul with an even sweeter voice, you can catch him at Antone's on 12/29, when he celebrates his brand-new album.

Thinking of the boss Clifford Antone on his heavenly birthday today. He would have been just 77. A man who dedicated his life to the blues. His passion extended far beyond the songs and into the people that made the music, who often received little money and zero credit.

“If people want to do anything in the world for me, it’s just support live music. That’s all. Wherever they are, whatever venue it’s at, whatever kind of music they like… I just want to see musicians have a decent living and be treated with respect.” - CJA
