Hard to see where 'breathing space' is going to come from for many #renters with this regressive budget.
The @OBR_UK (the Govt's own forecaster) says rents will increase and the @resfoundation says next year will see the biggest gap between LHA rates and actual rents. Yet Govt press on.

It is "inconceivable" that landlords won't pass some costs onto renters as a result of a tax hike on rental income announced in the budget, the boss of the UK’s leading landlord association tells @AliFortescue.

The Chancellor has made life harder for #renters right across the country.
As the @OBR_UK has confirmed, hiking taxes will drive up rents and drive down supply in the rental market when demand is already way ahead of the number of homes available.
Given LHA remains unchanged, how this fits with a commitment to providing households with more breathing space is anyone’s guess.

The Green Party say that they want to "abolish landlords".
And yet *both* of their Deputy Leaders are, in fact, landlords.
Clearly, they know there's nothing wrong with renting out a property. So why are they trying to impose this rubbish on the rest of us?
Absolute farce at @AeroportNice. Not a single person available to check UK passports. Lady managing the queue said in french to her superior ‘I told you to keep them on the runway for a bit’
Innovative and creative way of managing passenger flow.
The passport machines sit vacant unable to be switched on. Eventually, a grumpy officer meanders to his booth resenting being interrupted from his morning coffee and cigarette.
Still, at least he wasn’t on strike or out looting. Seriously #Nice airport sort this nonsense out. It’s every week and getting worse.

Root and branch reforms are needed to the Capital Gains Tax system to help tackle the rental housing supply crisis.
The current system cannot distinguish between genuine gains and price increases resulting from inflation. We’re calling on the Chancellor to tax gains, not inflation, and to recognise long-term investment rather than short-term property flipping.
