🚀 IF YOU COULD ASK AN ASTRONAUT ONE QUESTION….. What would it be?
On Saturday 7th November, NASA astronaut Doug Hurley will be joining us at Cranfield, Bedfordshire, for our Autumn Space Social 2026.
Doug piloted the final Space Shuttle mission aboard Atlantis in 2011 and commanded the first crewed SpaceX Crew Dragon mission in 2020. Two very different spacecraft. Two extraordinary chapters in human spaceflight.
But what would YOU want to know?
What was it really like to fly the Space Shuttle?
How different was Crew Dragon?
What goes through your mind in those final seconds before launch?
Or perhaps there's something completely different you've always wanted to ask someone who's been to space.
We don't script our audience Q&A. Your questions are your questions. So, here's one for you:
👇 If you had the microphone, what would you ask Doug Hurley?
Join us on Saturday 7th November for your opportunity to hear his experiences and ask your own questions.
🎟️ General Admission £49, including one in-person autograph.

Remembering Margaret Hamilton. For the BIS, her legacy is a reminder: exploration needs software, judgement and teamwork—not rockets alone.

🚀 ON THIS DAY IN 1933…
A bold vision of humanity’s future beyond Earth took its first steps towards reality!
On 13 October 1933, the British Interplanetary Society (BIS) was founded by a group of enthusiasts who dared to imagine a future in which rockets could carry humanity to the Moon, the planets and beyond. 🌕✨
What began as a pioneering vision has grown into a remarkable legacy of scientific thought, technical innovation and the enduring belief that space exploration belongs to humanity’s future.
🥳 Today, we celebrate 93 years!
🌌 From imagination to reality... and onwards to the stars!
