A piece of Buddy’s history just came back to life.
Alex, Buddy’s real owner, has just posted from her original 2014-era Bitcointalk account, Icicle2 about our Buddy community.
This is the same account tied to the old Buddy discussions from more than a decade ago.
She recently regained access to it after years away, and today she went back to the old thread to continue Buddy’s story from where it was left.
She’s also still working on recovering her original “icicle” account and plans to post from there too if access is restored.
For us, this means a lot.

More than 12 years later, I’ve just posted again in the same Bitcointalk thread where I was writing about Buddy back in 2014.

For anyone who doesn’t know the history, I originally posted on Bitcointalk as icicle, and later as Icicle2.
I lost access to my original icicle account during everything that happened back then, but recently, after a lot of technical issues, I finally managed to regain access to my old Icicle2 account from 2014.
So going back there and writing about Buddy again after all these years honestly felt quite surreal. Back then I wasn’t thinking about “crypto history”. I was just trying to save my dog.
Now, more than a decade later, people have gone back through those old posts, followed the Bitcoin trail, found the 2014 message written into Bitcoin saying:
“Buddy is the best dog in the world”
…and somehow found me too.
I’ve now added a new update to Buddy’s old thread from the same Icicle2 account I was using in 2014.
I’m also still working on recovering my original icicle account, and if I get access back, I’ll post from there too. It feels like Buddy’s story is being picked up again exactly where it was left.
And this time there’s a whole community behind it, building something more sustainable around his history, supporting the cause and helping carry Buddy’s legacy forward.
From those old Bitcointalk posts in 2013/2014 to where Buddy is today… It really does feel like the story has come full circle.
And I genuinely think this next chapter could be the biggest one yet.
October was brutal for the crypto market. But for Buddy, it was a month of resilience, rebuilding, and proving that we’re here to stay.
After the challenges we inherited at the end of September, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
And the results speak for themselves.
October opened at $53K and closed at $97K, +82% in a struggling market.
But the chart only tells part of the story.
Our holder count grew, Buddy’s recognition continued to expand, and we made real progress:
✅ Completed our roadmap milestone, with the game still under development.
✅ Expanded our listings and visibility.
✅ Completed the DexScreener Community Takeover (CTO).
✅ Successfully recovered our official X account after its suspension.
✅ Organized a successful community contest that brought fresh creativity, engagement, and amazing content.
✅ Strengthened our operational team and rebuilt community confidence. 💪
We’re grateful for the amazing team that shows up for Buddy everyday.

We’re just getting started.

Buddy wasn’t created to be a meme.
He was a real dog, rescued from the side of a road in 2013.
Born with a serious heart condition, he was given a second chance by Alexandra, who refused to give up on him.
In 2014, eight words were written into Bitcoin forever:
